I've been meaning to start this thread for a while but whilst the main Image plaudits are all going to Saga, there is another title they've got that I feel can be as good as Saga at times - Morning Glories. Created by Nick Spencer and descried as Lost meets the Runaways (that was enough of a hook to get me interested), I genuinely still have no idea where they're going with the story, but feel compelled to keep in reading to find out, anyone else loving this book?

I picked up all 5 volumes at NYCC And blew right through them in a few days. Fantastic stuff. I really need to reread them to take it all in.

I keep picking up the first volume, but I always put it back just before I go to check out. I'm not sure why. The art just doesn't seem to strike me in the right spot (even though it is really good.)

I have read the first 4 trades and own 5 and 6...I have no idea what's happening in this book. I am not alone in this either, as I have been told by many people they also feel lost. So, why do I keep buying the trades? I don't know. Someone help me understand

My fear is that all these loose ends won't tie together for me naturally. I'll need to find a explanation of various plot points on some website or in a companion hardcover down the road. And for me, that is a failure. I don't want my hand held to the 'wow' moment which I know this title has somewhere.

I think I'll be picking up volume 6 this weekend, the thing is as I'm buying the collected editions, I only read once every few months, and when I pick up a new volume I have to re-read everything prior to it, to make sure that I get the gist of whats going on.

I liked it better when I blew through the first several collections in a few weeks. When I started reading month to month, it lost me. I don't know if that's because the story became more complicated or that it's just always been something that needs to be read in chunks to "understand". So I've been saving up the monthlies and am ready to dive into the previous arc. Will probably also do some re-reading first too. I've found that the text columns in the monthlies, which aren't in the collections, do help my comprehension some.
I do think it was a mistake to bring in the second group of kids. As it goes on and we are not getting as many answers as we'd like, it is threatening to collapse under its own convoluted weight. But I'll keep reading, hoping for the payoff. I do still like the art a lot, and some of the individual stories (like the one with Irina and her mother) have been pretty good.

I've read about 25 issues of this series, but if you would ask me what exactly happened in those issues i couldn't tell you.
The thing i liked about Lost was that it was complicated and full of mystery but in this book i just find it annoying. In Lost you some times got some answers to the many questions, in Morning Glories you don't get the answers just more questions. But that's just my opinion.

Is anyone still reading this? I've read through 4 volumes and while there are times I feel I have a grasp on the the story only to have my theories thrown out the window by the next book.
So I guess my question is there any payoff to this series and should I continue or is it just a convoluted mess and just cut my losses now before I invest more time and money? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
