Well, someone had to make the thread What are your feelings on the series now? Personally I'm a little bored with the current story arc. As much as I like the character of Negan, it's just another Governor scenario with a different twist. I loved the struggle of just trying to survive against zombies, finding food, shelter from the elements. The focus on warring factions as a main plot line is dumb because in reality all Rick has to do is get all these people and vehicles and drive 50 miles away! Negan would NEVER find them and they would have the man power to clear out a new area and setup a safe zone etc...That would be more interesting to read about if you ask me. Also if you think about it, surviving a zombie apocalypse would be pretty easy. Zombies cant climb steps right, so just like live on the second floor? Why is that so hard? Also all you need is bicycles to get around, they're quite and efficient. DUH.

I don't care for this "war". The series has been at it's best when there was no action. It's a soap opera, and I miss my character drama. I do think it'll get better once they finish this fighting, but at this point, I'm finally starting to think my money would do better going to a different Image title.
I'd come back if they killed off Rick and made Carl the focus. He's my favorite. I want to delve into how messed up he probably is.

Still enjoying the series over here. I understand why readers get frustrated when stories veer off the expected path but the transition is necessary in order to get somewhere new. It isn't the most exciting arc at the moment but the quality hasn't dipped enough for me to drop it. Each to their own and all that.
Zombies can't climb stairs now? Hehe

I was refusing to admit that I was sick of it for a little while. This arc is killing me though. The drama is gone, the character development is gone..
I was going to leave after this issue, but I actually liked this issue so I have a feeling this arc is going to climax. This might be the last arc for me though (never thought I'd say that)

This might be the last arc for me though (never thought I'd say that) I think they decided to double ship this arc because they knew if it took them a year to tell the story of this "All Out War" they would lose a lot of readers on the single issues. I think the stories are definitely starting to blur together a bit, so Kirkman really needs to shake things up after this arc.

This book needs a shake up badly. And I'm not talking an issue 100 shake up. They need to get back on the road. Find a way to make the zombies entertaining again.

I think there needs to be an evolution of the walkers. Make them more horrifying, like the resident evil zombies or something. I know Kirkman says it's a survival book and not a horror, but it needs a serious shake up. Imagine how much more scary it would be if the virus evolved to something horrible... zombies that can spew vomit or have spikes instead of bones or something. I mean, it wouldn't be jumping the shark since they already had a character with a tiger...

I've been enjoying it so far, but I havent been reading it since the start. I bought the compendium and all the trades following after a few years ago. I'm one of the fans who wouldnt mind seeing Rick get the cut and the focus move to Carl though. I know Kirkman has been quoted somewhere before stating that Rick has a 200 or so issue run and the series is longer... So we'll see what happens.

I don't know about everyone else, but I doubt I'll still be around at issue 200.

I finished compendium 2 and i thought the second half of the first one was stronger and with the second one up to about no way out was the stronger part. After no way it got a bit boring but i recently found out that Kirkman intends the series to go for 300 issues.

So far the first half of All Out War has been pretty good. I see things getting pretty bad in the second half, I'm curious to see who comes out of this war alive.

Is anyone else at this point like BLAHHHHHHHHHH come on with this war already! I almost feel as if this series is at a point where its almost necessary to read it in trade format or you lose a ton of the feel and tone of the book.

I've been reading TWD a couple of issues at a time out of necessity (only picking up my books once a month) so I'm still really loving All Out War.
I know a lot of people have complained that they feel like Negan is just another Governor, but apart from both being in charge of a community and having a screw loose they're very different characters in very different situations.

Did anyone read this weeks issue? I'm really wanting to see what some other folks think about what happened.
