#21 was a game-changer....Namor, man, Namor. I haven't missed a beat man. This book perfectly suits my taste, and I've enjoyed every issue. I kinda guessed Namor would be the one to do it, and Dr. Strange just straighup murdered the Justice League look-alikes. I'm curious as to how the Maximus storyline is going to play out.

That panel where Maximus tells Swan he could be a king was so great. Schiti is killing this book on the art. I think Larocca did the last few pages of this issue. What a great arc with the faux-JL.
The parts with Black Panther really show how far he's fallen since the FF series.

I like the book, But I really think hickman reads better in trades. I feel like I have to read the previous issue, or at least thumb through it before I can start the new one. I'm really curious how all this is going to work with the new mighty avengers stuff.

This one probably my favorite Avengers Title. I really loved last issue, and I can't wait for the next one. I do agree that this, and Hickman in General read better in trade. When it's all over I'm going to sit down with all my singles and read them straight through.

The last two issues (#21-22) have been really gnarly. I'm so glad there is narrative momentum again after so many issues of treading water. I love the questions in play, the moral dilemmas, and seeing how the characters wrestle with all of it. It's disturbing to see these heroes consider destroying an entire planet and ending every life on it. These are heroes that represent helping and saving people. They're so dedicated to protecting their own planet, they are ready to destroy another one. Of course, only one of them is willing to actually go through with it, but seeing them reach the brink is incredible. And, of course, Strange sold his soul and killed all those dudes. Like Reed says, they go to "the end of themselves." Excellent art by Kev Walker in #22, but kind of jarring coming off of the previous looks. Frank Martin remains a fabulous colorist. This panel is awesome:

Is it bad I feel like Namor is the only sane person in the group? His words in issue #22 were pretty on point. It makes no sense to let the whole world die just so you can have a clear conscious.
Also I think the initial reason Black Panther was pissed at Namor was a little non-sensical. Namor didn't make T'Challa change his own choice, Namor made his own choice and his actions absolved T'Challa of any responsibility for what happened.
What do you guys think is the Black Swans secret plan? Maximus eludes to it in the recent issues.

I can see both sides. In the end, I come down more with the group than Namor. That's because I don't think that any person or group truly has the right to exterminate an entire plant's population so that another one can survive. But, then again, doing nothing results in twice as many people dying. Maybe Namor has it right. That's why this comic is so good!

I've been trying to find treads for Hickman's run, but I haven't had much luck. I've found some theories that believe Rabum Alal was hatched from the Galactus Seed, which was a focus of the story in The Mighty Thor #1-6 and it was spoken of again in Hickman's Fantastic Four #600. "Sue then asked Galactus if the being inside the Seed would be better than him. Galactus said it would not. It would be immature and that 'everything would end much sooner'". This could be the event that started the incursions possibly.

The big questions being asked of the group are pretty interesting. The team's supreme arrogance has lead them to annexing themselves from the other Avengers, and then creating a weapon that powerful "just in case". High concept questions push each of them to their limits and we find out who hadn't thought this through to the end. Namor was totally right to call everyone out on their morals being more important than every life on the planet, but who could kill that many people with the push of a button and then have to deal with that? Especially if you've lived your life by a code that puts you in total opposition to that action.

I know what you're saying, Cap, but I think in the end these guys just can't murder that many people and move on with their lives. Namor can, obviously.
