Hey folks I was just wondering about how everyone else feels about the never ending string of events that seem to hit some books. I particularly am talking about Green Lantern. First it was lights out, now its something else and in the fall there looks to be a huge cross latern event that gave me a headache just trying to understand it in previews. The real back breaker was when i got my comic shipment ( i get my comics monthly) I had 3 Green Lantern books and sat down excited to read them only to see I had parts 1,3 and 5 of a story arc, what a bummer. I was really enjoying getting into Green Lantern as I jumped on at the creative team switch but I can't take any more of this so I dropped it and Sinestro. Just wanted to see how others felt about this. Do some of you love them?

I loved action comics when Pak and Kuder took over. This superman doomed arc is killing everything that made the action comics issues since #25 so fun and inspiring.

I's sick of Green Lantern crossovers specifically. I mean honestly, the new 52 has been around for almost three years we've had 5 Green Lantern crossovers that I can think of, two of which led into each other, then four issues then another crossover. It's just getting insane. And even worse with the Green Lantern crossovers the narrative crosses through all the books, at least with a batfamily crossover like Night of the Owls, the narrative was in the Batman issues, and then Nightwing, or Teen Titans, or Red Hood and the Outlaws, had a two issue break to do their thing, while explaining what you needed to know about the crossover to understand their story. Green Lantern: New Guardians just randomly drops me into part 4 or 8 or whatever of a crossover. At least Green Lantern Volume 4 had a text page explaining what you miss between PART 1 AND 5 WHICH ARE THE ONLY ONES COLLECTED IN THE BOOK.
Edit: That ended up way longer than I thought it was going to be.

Maybe I'm odd here, but one of the major reasons I read comics is because of crossover events. Yes they are largely cash-grabs, but I like seeing a universe interact with itself. I like there to be solid continuity between the titles I read. This essentially means there's always going to be some crossover between books. DC has at least done a good job of keeping crossover books in the same "family" of books, or at least the same writers. Animal man and Swamp thing cross over was one of my favorites, as well as Death of the family crossing over with the rest of the Bat family books. We also had Throne of Atlantis, which was just one of my favorite story-lines in the New 52.
I consider each book to be a part of the overall story of the DCU, some more integral than others, so I cannot fault editorial for mandating crossovers.

For GL it is half the reason i dropped it. As for Action it is effecting quality. Batman ones don't bother me much. But some like Animal Man and Swamp Thing are good.

I'm just tired of what they've done to the Justice League. How long has it been where the story was about the actual founding members of the Justice League and not Lex Luthor, the Metal Men, and now the Doom Patrol. DC needs to stop using its flagship comic to test the waters out for other ideas to see if they're palatable enough for their own ongoing. I just want a good story with the characters I love, but I haven't got one in over a year now! Crossover's don't even seem to be events anymore, rather just sticking all the characters in a room and saying, "here you go" (for example see almost every X-Men crossover in the last two years). So stop trying to get me to fall in love with Lex Luthor, because he's a jackass and not everyone loves the anti-hero angle that every New 52 hero seems to possess. Case in point: members of the Justice League (Cyborg, Shazam, etc) don't have an ongoing, yet they give Larfleeze his own comic?
I apologize for the rant, I'm clearly still upset the Wonder Woman's solo series will soon be joining the large crop of crossovers it has successfully dodged for almost 3 years...
