I can't believe there is not a thread about this issue yet. I am almost speechless. To see everything that Bruce was willing to give up to save Gotham and it's citizens is a familiar Batman story thread, but to see the torture young Bruce was going to put himself through to forget his own past was gut wrenching. The emotions in the faces drawn by Capullo twisted my stomach more than images seen in movies or television when those writers or directors are trying to pull similar emotions out of me. Snyder has depicted the Alfred/Bruce relationship in a way to show the love the characters have for each other and the understanding each has for the other's motivations. The vision Alfred has of the future he wishes for Bruce, and his eventual acceptance of Bruce's mission, was more than moving-it was emotionally draining. Bravo Misters Snyder and Capullo! I hope you two are involved with this title for many years to come, but with The Court of Owls, The Death of the Family, and now Zero Year, you two have already given fans enough to treasure for a lifetime.

Prepare the hate for me...
I thought this issue was one of the weakest in the story and the run. I just got bored of the Zero Year thing after Dark City finished.

I really loved the issue, but some time soon i really have to go back and read it again it was such a long story I'm sure i forgot some stuff by the end. As great as the story is i still liked Court of Owls and Death of The Family a little more and I'm so pumped for EndGame. Now for something that might get me in to trouble i kind of want EndGame to be the end of Snyder and Capullo's run they made some great comics but there all so many great creators that deserve their chance at the dark night. EndGame would be an awesome place to end their run and not run the danger of over staying their welcome. Think about it if Snyder leaves batman he would have his pick at any DC book he wants.

This issue was ok. I just wasn't huge on zero year. The first section was cool, but everything that followed seemed much weaker. I loved everything else in Snyder's run, but this one just felt... off. I am looking forward to some present day Batman though!
