I figured even though this is a comics forum that some people might wanna talk about music they like.
So just throw out some genres and bands you like.
For me;
Genres-- Hip Hop, Jazz, Prog Metal, Blues, Rock, Bluegrass, and Soul Music are some of my favorite genres.
Bands-- I love the Fugees, Black Star, Mos Def, After the Burial, Greensky Bluegrass, Lucero, Tom Waits and so so much more.
I think my favorite song has to be... Romeo is bleeding by Tom Waits.
I figure it'd be a cool way to get to know everyone.

I grew up on hard rock. Nirvana, pearl jam, newer stuff like breaking Benjamin. But a few years ago I got into electronic. Now that's completely my thing. Dubstep, edm... Basically anything with a bass and a beat.
I do still enjoy rock. Some rap and even a classic orchestral score every now and again.

I played classical violin for a number of years, before moving to playing guitar so my music tastes are mainly a strange eclectic mix of classical and orchestral, and then rock/punk/metal bands.
I'm currently listening to a tonne of Billy Talent, Rise Against, Story of the Year, Fightstar, all Time Low, bands along those sorts of lines.

I'm a singer in two bands, one is an acoustic folk/rock type of thing with my brother and a friend we do mostly original stuff and are working on our first Ep. This is a link if you fancy taking a listen. Blencs: Cold Flame by En Route Audio t.co/gVS1HUH9Rv on #SoundCloud I'm also in a 6 piece rock blues covers band that play stuff by the Black Crowes, Led Zep, Clapton, Eagles, Free/bad Company ac/dc and this is the kind of stuff I like to listen to mostly. I love a band called the Temparence Movement who won best new rock act at a big awards show in the uk this past month and bright eyes/Conner oberst. My absolute favourites are Ray Lamontagne, who I could listen to on repeat till the day I die. :-), and the Black Crowes who I've only discovered in the last 2 years and they've blown my mind. Oh and Bon Jovi.......

I haven't really listened to their newer stuff but it's probably still really good. Blencs you like exactly the same kind of music as my girlfriend. She love Ray Lamontagne with a passion and never stops listening to Bright Eyes. I swear if it wasn't for me she would be in love with both of those guys.

I'll give anything a try. Currently on a big electronica kick with Nedry, Purity Ring, and Umberto being my mainstays.
joroak: You might appreciate The Glitch Mob given your post if you haven't sampled them already.

I've got quite a broad taste in music, I love early 90s old skool rave and jungle and run a small digital label specialising in new stuff done in that style. I also love detroit techno like Jeff Mill, Juan Atkinson and Kevin Saunderson. I also love my punk rock and hardcore and used to play guitar and bass in a few local bands years ago. Love the Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Fugazi, Left for Dead, and a lot of the NYHC stuff like Bulldoze. Also partial to more mellow stuff like Belle and Sebastian. Basically anything different and a bit leftfield stokes my interest.

You ever listen to Breakscience? I really dig them. They sound kind of like a mix between Pretty Lights and Glitch Mob.

I grew up on metal as a kid, by 5 I was singing along to Enter Sandman and Symphony of Destruction (Megadeth > Metallica btw). First concert was AC/DC when I was 12, ya my dad is awesome.
Now I listen to a pretty good variety of stuff. I've developed a love for EDM over the past few years although dubstep is hit or miss for me. I either like it or hate it. The only rap I enjoy is old 90's stuff and Eminem, I cant stand the garbage they put on the radio now.
So to sum it up for me it's Rock, Metal, Hardcore, Classical, EDM and Movie Soundtracks.

Have you ever listened to Manowar?? The Kings of Metal? Lol I used to be obsessed with them!!! Its funny because now that I am older I've been listening to gangster rap which is in complete contrast to my Metal roots. I guess I'm just not angry anymore lol.

I don't mean to criticize your musical tastes, but let me just say this: There is SO MUCH more rap out there than what's on the radio! The Roots, Talib Kweli, and Mos Def are meaningful and well constructed. and Fugazi, I feel ya man. After going through all of high school listening to metal, it's weird that I now listen to Biggy Smalls and Outkast along with blues and what have you. It's weird what growing up does to your musical tastes.

Stuff like Mos Def I reall enjoy a lot!. I'm in the same boat as you guys, high school was strictly Metal, my clothes was mostly black and I had 2's in both ears. Early college I added color to my wardrobe, expanded my music and took out the earnings haha.

I find myself looking backwards at past great roots rock and jam band stuff at the minute as im all about melody musicianship at present. I play guitar to a reasonably poor standard so im mesmerised by bands that just seem to make stuff up on the fly effortlessly. Tired of hearing people sample classics instead of creating classics, its like taking a classic comic and putting new words over the panals and going 'ta dah!, look at what IVE MADE!?'
