So this week, for the first time in quite a while, my saver was empty (don't judge too harshly; i'm trade-waiting on Fatale, Manhattan Projects, and Sex Criminals), but I so love the routine of going to the shop on Wed and grabbing my books, and my shop had sent out 25%-off coupons to all its savers'-club members that expire at month's end, and the list of the trades that I want is positively criminal in length, so I decided to go down there anyways and grab something.
After much perusing and scoping-out, I snagged Prophet Vol 1: Remission for a song. Just finished an initial flip-through, and OH this book; I can't possibly properly describe to what extent/how much this is right up my alley, and I can't wait for the next trade sale at the shop so I can grab the next couple of volumes.
Anyone else a fan? Seems like a pretty remarkable re-invention of an initially paper-thin, ridiculous, obscenely-Liefeldian Liefeld character by this Brandon Graham fellow, and i'm extremely impressed by this first trade. Thoughts? It's supposed to wrap-up soon, yeah? What do you guys think of Prophet?

No one? Not a soul? It's wonderfully wild, hard-core sci-fi; I can't get enough of it right now, which is a good thing as I still have a bit of catching up to do.

I picked up vol 1 at a convention (the guy on the Image stall recommended it). I found it really interesting a fresh, yet maybe a little wild and out-there art-wise for my tastes. I did also pick up a few of the later issues too that I found in the 50p bin of my LCS. Overall I'd recommend it, especially to someone looking for some true original Sci-Fi.
