Considering the interest there is on the World Cup, I decided to create a thread so we can talk about it.
For me so far this tournament has been marked by questionable callings, surprising results and odd footwear.
So pretty much Australia, Cameroon and surprisingly: Spain (which started terrible) are out already. Netherlands and Chile are in and well, Mexico vs Croatia should let us know who goes with Brazil (highly doubt they will loose their next match)

you can pretty much add England to the out already list. And in no way at all did I enjoy watching them lose. Holland are looking good, although Australia troubled them, I think they could have gone up a few more gears. I fancy Mexico to beat Croatia.

Yeah, England is practically out....and once again this tournament is giving more surprises. I guess the Latin America teams are going to make it far?
Chile, Colombia and Uruguay are practically in and is more likely both Brazil and Mexico will make it from their group as well as Argentina.

A lot of upsets and surprises
E.G. Australia Vs Netherlands, being an Australian and losing to Chile and knowing that the Dutch beat Spain 5-1 i (and everyone i know) thought we were going to lose 5+-0 but we lost 3-2 and were leading 2-1 at one point and we got one of the best world cup goals (of all time)
Spain being knocked out was also a surprise, the same goes for England
I was watching Greece Vs Japan and was supervised by the 0-0 result as Japan had 68% possession.
Overall i thing Germany will win

France just crushed Switzerland 5-2!
They've all but qualified for the next round, and looking very tough, provided they keep it together!

France look incredibly potent going forward, but a little sloppy at the back. They'll certainly be a team to watch as I reckon they're bound for some exciting games!

Huw, If you score five goals, it doesn't much matter what else goes on, but the next round will be much tougher! I heard a great waggish "statistic" yesterday: "England has never won a World Cup Match when Wayne Rooney scores!"

I wasn't able to watch any games early (catching the first half of Honduras vs Ecuador) and I'm shocked that Costa Rica eliminated England and moved to the second round.
And if France continues like that they could win this whole thing....

I know! I'm loving it...and Ecuador has a small chance to move to the second round if things go well for them.

Well, I waa out all day at Philly Comic Con...so I'm surprised that Argentina just did 1 goal and was close to a 0-0 match and also that Ghana did an amazing job against the original favorite to win the cup!
