This is a thought I've had rattling in the back of my head for a while now:
Is getting too behind on a book potentially detrimental to the book?
I'll use a real-life example to explain what I mean.
I love Deadpool. I've enjoyed Gerry and Brian's run a lot on the book. I read the first 23 issues with no problems whatsoever and a lot of times it'd end up at the top of my pile. Then I got really busy in life and next thing you know I was four-five issues behind. I read up to 27, but by the time I finished that, 29 had already come out and I was two issues behind again. I just ended up dropping the book because it seemed like I could never catch up.
Has this ever happened to you?

I have this problem with the Bendis X-Men books. I picked up the first couple of issues of All-New and Uncanny when they came out but i stopped reading them for a while because of some other books and before i knew it i was like ten issues behind on both of them.
So now i'll just read them on Unlimited.

Double shipping can sometimes have a negative effect I'm noticing. Not just on your wallet, but on your reading abilities.

I'm super backed up on comics in general right now. About 2 months almost.. I think the problem for me was not only time but that I was reading sooooooo much stuff that I kinda just had a burn out. I've cut my read list down tremendously now because of it. I think falling behind does hinder the books though because now that I look at an issue thats 4-5 issues back I get hit with the "Whats the point in reading these if I can just jump on the next arc?" logic.

Im convinced that I do nothing to help keep books alive. My list of unread books on Comixology is daunting. There is just soooo much good stuff out there I can't keep up. I read everything in chunks, Sometimes I keep up with new books for a while but I always fall behind.
The TC crew keeps turning me on to really good stuff that I've never ready before thus putting me even farther behind. Damn you (and thank you) Bob, Bobby, Stephanie and Steve!
