Has anyone else heard anything about this story involving David Goyer's comments about She-Hulk? Was curious what you guys thought. Here is a link to a copy of the story ipad.themarysue.com/themarysue/#!/entry/man-of-steel-sequel-writer-david-goyer-calls-marvels-shehulk,537cd075e56d0bb8535f2e2f

(Folks, click on the link and read Mr. Goyer's statement if you haven't already!) Can things get worse? Obviously in making a comment that's stupid and demeaning on so many levels that it's hard to count, it's clear that he's never read any She- Hulk, so what are the odds that he'll immerse himself in Diana's history before writing her into his "B/S" movie? Beyond that, I'd say that he has a low opinion of super-heroines in general for not opposing the childish statements of the host, but then he continues on with something worse, and makes himself sound as if he were a twelve-year-old who just found his Dad's "adult magazine" collection.

It makes me really sad that this is the man who's going to recreate these superheroes for a new generation. I was lucky enough to learn about the Justice League through the amazing animated cartoon when I was a kid, which by the way, is where I learned ALL about the Martian Manhunter and SHOCKINGLY neither has anything to do with my sexual activeness at all. (that a**hat)
I was willing to at least check those movies out for the sake of seeing the trinity on screen but this man makes me reluctant to give any money to watch any of the stuff he writes because he obviously does not have any respect for the characters, the industry, or the fans.

What a not nice person (Trying to not swear here). I would like to point out for what it's worth Goyer isn't the one writing Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (which might be the stupidest title I have ever heard). Goyer is responsible, along with Snyder for the story treatment. From there the film was written by Chris Terrio who wrote Argo. Also people should check out Steph's article on the main site, its a good read. talkingcomicbooks.com/2014/05/21/open-letter-david-s-goyer/

I just want to say that I felt bad for John August. The whole first half of the show was a train wreck and I felt like I could feel his pain. The second half of the show, the 3 page challenges, was good, but man, what a disaster that first half was...smh. What a shame.

Me thinking that he is doing Wonder Woman in her first big screen appearance. BvS got the costume right but the name Dawn of Justice is terrible and this (name and goyer's comment) has made me less excited for the movie

What a douche.
I know he doesnt do all the writing (I think he did the first draft and then it went to the guy who wrote Argo) but this makes me worry even more then I allready was about the movie.

Screw Goyer, he's an overrated hack! He's always come across as having a massive ego, now he's added the title of misogynist to that, too.
Any movie that he's been attached to that's come out any good are the ones where his input was minimal.
Also, who in their right mind attacks the demographic the movie he's working on is aimed at, as being basement dwelling virgins?! Comic book movies should be written by fans, for fans. Marvel have proven that, if things are done this way, even people who aren't comic book readers will come out in droves and love them.
Kind of hope Bats v Supes bombs, now.

...and this, from a poster on Byrne Robotics:
Goyer comes across as stupid, mainly because he is flatly wrong in his assertions. Not only because he doesn't know She-Hulk is Bruce's cousin, but because the classic 'Hulk smash!' is a profoundly child-like character, veering between toddler-tantrum rage and the innocent just-want-to-be-left-alone-with-bambi-and-thumper placidity of an infant. There's nothing sexual in the character. Goyer is as ignorant about the Hulk as he is about She-Hulk.
I would take it all with a pinch of salt, though, as I would guess he wasn't being too serious in his analysis, but it does betray more than a little about his mindset.
...garnered this response from John Byrne:
I wonder.
Thru my career, there have been several occasions when I have "taken it with a pinch of salt" -- ignoring blather rising up from fandom that was patently and provably false* -- and in the long run, this has proven a mistake. I should have gone after those false statements, and gone after them HARD. Once a thought gets lodge into the fan brain, it is almost impossible to shake loose.
Goyer has a much, much taller soapbox than those of us who work in and read the actual comics. His perceptions of the characters find their way into movies seen by MILLIONS.
* "Byrne's stuff doesn't sell any more." "Byrne never lasts more than eight issues." "Byrne is only in it for the money." etc

God I love Gerry Conway lol. The part that bothers me is that I have a strong feeling that Goyer and Warner Brothers will just sweep all this under the rug and ignore the elephant that now occupies the room. If Goyer ignores his statements and doesn't make some kind of public statement in regard to these actions I feel as if that is even more insulting; Because it would give the appearance that he feels that what he said doesn't even warrant an explanation. I feel that would be really damning of his personal character to the comic community.

Just when Zack Snyder was getting some positive press for the Batman Superman super cameo bonanza film, in steps Agent Goyer and normal service is restored to the DC/Warner brothers world. Words honestly fail me.

If they have Mr. Goyer issue the usual public mea culpa, it is going to be seen as insincere at best, no matter how he tries to spin it, but letting his comments stand un-explained (however vapid the explanation is!), would only serve to make matters worse among those of us who feel they'e already transgressed previously on these sorts of things. I think some statement needs to be made, but I wouldn't want to vouch for it having a positive effect. Additionally, this episode will reinforce widely-held stereotypes about our community to many "civilians" who already regard us as outsiders, and so to have "one of our own" dispensing such drivel, well...
