Issue #133: Batfleck Revealed and Saying Goodbye to The MovementPodcast StreamDownload Directly From iTunesFeedburner LinkWhat do we think of Ben Affleck’s Batman costume? How did The Movement end? What series do we think ended before their time? We answer these questions and tackle DC’s Future’s End, Marvel’s Original Sin, Uncanny X-Force, Cyclops, Loki Agent of Asgard, Silver Surfer, Heroes for Hire, and more in our book of the week segment! We also find time to talk sales numbers, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and the many comic book TV shows on the horizon. The TC crew are back for another glorious, rip roaring comic book odyssey of epic, galactic, universal proportions that is quite large (am I selling this enough) and big etc.
What do you think of the Batsuit reveal? Personally I think it may well be the best Batsuit to ever be seen on screen. Have you been reading The Movement and how do you feel about its brilliant run? Discuss this and everything the guys mention on this week's show, right here!We want to extend a huge thank you to all who donated to our fundraiser. We hit our goal in just 5 days and will be securing TalkingComics.Com! You will all get a proper personal thank you, plus a special gift from us here at Talking Comics. We are truly lucky to have you as listeners, fans and friends! Annnnnnnnnnd… we say it on the show, but just in case you missed it, the Talking Comics crew on Twitter are: Bobby: @bobbyshortle Steve: @dead_anchoress Stephanie: @ hellocookieAnd Bob’s email is bobreyer@talkingcomicbooks.com

Congrats on securing your domain name, that is awesome, big, news. I can't wait to checkout the Talking Valiant podcast. Thank you so much making a Valiant podcast, the few out there already don't really do anything for me. Great episode today, although I missed hearing hellocookie opinions on Channing Tatum as Gambit and the new Bat suite and mobile.

I'm only about halfway through listening to the podcast right now, but congratulations on getting the domain name! Also, YAY for mentioning the latest issue of Loki Agent of Asgard - I am such a cheerleader for that book and I'm glad my favorite podcasters are enjoying it as well! Finally, I must mention that I picked up the trade of Sheltered based on the recommendation for the series on the podcast and am hooked. I'm going to see what my comic shop has in stock of the last few issues to finish catching up.

I was surprised nobody mentioned Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man as the #1 came out last week as well as the Dan Slott Learning to Crawl first issue as both were incredible.

I enjoyed the podcast today, as I always do, and wanted to pitch in my two sense on a couple topics you covered today.
First, series that I wish had not ended: Nextwave, by Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen; Leave it to Chance, by James Robinson and Paul Smith; Madman, by Michael and Laura Allred; and even though it was conceived with and end point and I knew that going in, I really miss Scalped by Jason Aaron and R.M. Guerra.
I wanted to throw in on my top favorite artists, too: My all time, no holds barred favorite comics artist who I will love until the end of time is Michael Allred. His book Madman was my introduction to 'Indie' comics, and it was made perfectly clear that there was room for more than superheroes in comic books. But, there are so many great artists out there. For pure action-packed superhero stuff I love Olivier Copiel. Chris Samnee and the other Daredevil artists, especially Marcos Martin and Paolo Rivera are some of the best visual storytellers in the medium. And for the 'fine art' angle, I would look at J.H. Williams III for days and days and days and never get bored.

I must say that i got a bit scared when i saw the title of this weeks podcast on ITunes. At first i only read Batfleck Revealed and Saying Goodbye...and i immediately thought one of you guys was going to say goodbye and leave the podcast...only to find out seconds later that the full title was Saying Goodbye to The Movement I never read the Movement, even though looking back i should have.A team book by Gail Simone sounds pretty good, i loved her Secret Six.But the reason that i never picked it up is the old excuse of already having way too much to read and too little time. But someday i will definitely read those twelve issues. As for comics that ended too soon, the only ones i can think if so far(because i'm in a hurry)are Robert Kirkmans Irredeemable Ant-Man and Warren Ellis Nextwave, but there are a whole lot more. Oh and after hearing you guys say such great things about the first Cyclops issue by Rucka i will definitely pick that up this weekend.

Wow none of the guys have seen Magic Mike? (shakes head)
Now that's where Tatum's star power was revealed. No pun intended.

glad to hear you love Uncanny X-Force so much. That was such a great run, and seeing Uncanny Avengers morph into part II of it has been fun to read

I think the comic series gone too soon for me was Nova by DnA. I would have read that for years.
Gotta agree with Steve I was anti-21 Jump Street until one night when nothing else was on. That movie is all kinds of funny and I actually want to see the sequel.

Blue Beetle is always a character I feel gets cancelled too soon, same with Static Shock.
Nextwave is another series that was canned too soon.
My big cancelled too soon book is one that was mentioned in show but not in this context is, Chris Roberson and Mike Allred's iZombie. The series was consistently great and I was really enjoying it, and now the adaptation is here and it makes me a little sad that it's taken such a dramatic turn from the book.
I would say Spider-Girl but for some reason it always finds it's way back onto the stands.

Simon, The first series I thought to mention was Spider-Girl, but as you say, with 150-or-so issues out there, I felt that I was being greedy!

Another great podcast.
Batfleck looks awesome
When i get the chance i will buy the movement
series that ended to quickly. Red She-Hulk FF Action Comics (should have gone to #1000) not a series but Geoff John's Aquaman Animal Man (but at least it was a complete ending and Lemire was happy with it)
