Hi all. Sorry if there is another thread already covering this. Wondered what people thought about CBR deciding to shut down its forums and create a new community comment space in light of the response to Janelle Asselin critique of the cover for Teen Titans #1. Obviously there needs to be a balance between having open dialogue and preventing harassment, and I'm hopeful that this is a positive move and can result in more productive discussion and less trolling. I think trolling and similar behavior will always exist online to some extent, but I'm grateful for this community and having an awesome space to share our love of comics.

It's a huge shame that CBR have had to take such measures. I think it's the only way for a website with so many members to eliminate any chance of things like that happening again. With so much traffic, trolls and bullies are always a risk. As comic book fans and members of the Talking Comics community, we owe it to the wider community to set an example and continue to conduct ourselves in a respectful and tolerant manner. I've no doubt that this will be exactly what happens. This forum is a brilliant place for everyone to share what they love, feel safe and be able to air their views.

I totally think it's the right move.
Sometimes a reboot is needed. In the wake of everything that's been going on, which if I'm correct, started there, it's nice to see CBR, take responsibility and scrap what was there. Hopefully they can build something better. It'd be nice to see other places follow suit.
