What were your favorite books of the week?
Personally it was easily Southern Bastards from Image Comics. Jason Aaron and Latour brought an amazingly well told story and art that made this a total 10 out of 10.

Yeah, i loved Southern Bastards. Brilliantly atmospheric and if ever an art style fitted a story like a glove, this is it. With the two Jason's coming from the deep South the world in this book drips an authenticity that somebody from the outside prob couldn't match.

I'm actually from Birmingham, AL so there are a lot of references in the book that make it even more unique to me personally lol.

I loved Southern Bastards #1! Wasn't planning on picking it up(cause i hadn't heard anything about it)but man this is my kind of book! The art was pretty good and it fits the story, but what did it for me was the writing. I loved Jason Aaron's Scalped(read it people!)and this reminds me a lot of that series. That dark and gritty, violent storytelling with badass characters, i love it! Awesome first issue, definitely gonna be on my pull list from now on.

Southen Bastards us still in my 'to read' pile but holy crap you guys Pretty Deadly #4 was AMAZING! A fantastic, hilarious, bright interlude between the darkness of last issue and the trouble yet to come. Colourist Lee Loughridge went above & beyond here.
Really, just wow. I have so much love for this new series.
Anyone read the Batgirl Annual? Another extraordinary book. A great Poison Ivy story with a flashback featuring Staring (love her & want her to return - the one and only Birds of Prey indeed!). There's a ton of heart in this story.
Still mulling over the Batwoman Annual. Happy to have a conclusion to the story left unresolved from 24 (& it was a decent story, even if most certainly not what Williams/Blackman intended) but not sure what to think of the conflicting art styles - both McCarthy & Moritat do great work here but side by side (& when the stories meet up) it is a really big shift from the painterly to the cartoony.

Hello, it's finally here!
Today we launched our campaign for a long time prepared project "On the Coast of Dreams" - the first Czech comics project on Kickstarter at all!
Any help in spreading the word and sharing to a handful of friends, family, and co-workers and generally all the people that could be interested in the project, would mean the world to us.
We created a special page to make it easy:
bit.ly/3-click-share
More information, opportunity to directly support our project and a campaign itself can be found at this link:
bit.ly/ksonthecoastofdreams
I hope that you will like our project.
Once again, thank you very much and Have a nice day!
Viktor

I think my lack of interest in the south is the problem, but it was a great first issue and would recommend everyone to check it out. My favorite book was probably Silver Surfer 2 because it was a pleasant surprise since I wasn't a fan of the first issue. Slott's writing really seemed to find it's strength and trajectory in this second issue.

Black Science hands down my favourite book this week. Like everyone else I didn't see that twist coming. After being a bit on the fence with Silver Surfer #1, but #2 in my opinion was a huge improvement and I really enjoyed it. New Avengers #17 was as far as a Hickman book goes, quite a fun issue. Love the artwork for the great society. I also enjoyed Hulk #2, definitely gonna stay with this a few more issues.

I haven't had a chance to read Southern Bastards yet, so this might change, but for now I'm giving my book of the week to Silver Surfer #2, which is turning out to be a very fun ride.
