History: Batman Forever. Not ashamed of it. I still have the 3d mug from McDonalds. Not exactly the greatest movie now. But as a kid it blew my mind. Then the animated series. I had the Two-Face/Batgirl origin 2 parter on VHS and wore it out.
Favorite Arc: Dark Knight Returns. Its funny how long I put this one off because its always in those "TOP WHATEVER OF ALL TIME" but man does it deserve it. I recently re-read it listening the the Christopher Drake score for the animated film. I get the feeling he tried to time the tracks and listing perfectly with the book because it was almost seamless. Really added to the experience. But that wink from Superman still gets me. And Green Arrow in that is the best he's ever been. I want an entire series on one armed Green Arrow.
Favorite Villain: Catwoman and Bane. Catwoman isn't a villain for me mainly because I know her best from the Brubaker run where she is basically a hero. But I love every moment they spend together. You can feel Batman crumble, only a tiny bit, but she puts the Man back into Batman. Bane is the flipside of Tim Drake, he discovers who Batman is on his own. But instead of joining him, defeats him. Underused villain. Writers only seem to use him as the muscle now. But the point of him in Knightfall was to not only be a physical opponent, but a mental one too.
Favorite Ep of BTAS: Over The Edge. Jim Gordon is my favourite Bat character of all time. And the ending of this episode, which I won't spoil, really nails his stance in the Bat family.
Favorite Aspect of Batman: Jim Gordon. I wrote this exact thing in my Batman 7th thread. But Jim Gordon is the character we can all relate to in the Batman universe. Because Batman is a man, but a man with millions of dollars and the time to train himself. Jim Gordon is the regular joe, doing his job the bes the can, trying to handle a family and occasionally failing at it. Then Batman comes along and does what he can't and inspires him to do more.

I like the fact that DC announced some books that seem to focus more on Gotham than they do on Batman.
All three of them(Gotham Academy, Arkham Manor, and the recently announced Gotham by Midnight)seem to have their own characters and will only use Batman and his supporting cast as guest appearances, kind of like what Gotham Central did back in the day.

I am hoping/praying/wishing that the Gotham TV show is a success and DC does a new Gotham Central or GCPD series. Jim Gordon, Harvey Bullock, Renee Montoya, Jason Bard. All such interesting characters, especially in Eternal at the moment. I would read a book based on them and them alone in a heartbeat.

Any one know whats going on with this new "The Dark Night" Snyder might be working on after Endgame? So far al lthats been confirmed is its him and Frank Miller writing a sequel to the Dark Knight Returns/Dark Knight Strikes Again, this time further in the future where Bruce Wayne is dead and Carrie Kelly is left to look for a new guardian of Gotham. All thats been really confirmed is that its Frank Miller and Snyder co-writing and Miller won't be doing the art because of his health so rumours are going around who it might be such as Greg Capullo or Sean Murphy.

Can't be bothered searching through 9 pages to see if this has been brought, but I just picked up vol 1 of Batman and the Outsiders, the Chuck Dixon run. I am really curious why this never popped up on my radar until the past week. Love Chuck Dixon a a writer, a team consisting of Batman, Marian Manhunter, Katana, Green Arrow (just to name a few) sounds incredible. I read it in one quick sitting and can't wait to finish the run and jump onto the Outsiders series that follows. Great read for anyone looking for something fun and easy with great character moments.

I just started to re-read Scott Snyder's Superman Unchained and on the first page of issue 4 he hints at issue 40 of his Batman run. Go check it out!
