Is anybody else reading this? I am loving it, the art is a little off for me but I like the story, especially the turn at the end of issue 2. This is such a heavy comic, such dark and serious tones. While it is pretty brutal I think it's done well.
Also, I wasn't following uncanny xmen (at least I think that's the title he was in most recently) can anyone tell me what they are talking about thinking his powers weren't working?

I'm reading this book as well, and loving it. The tone is perfect for a book about Magneto and the art is gloriously dark. His powers haven't been so hot lately, you see signs of this pre Avengers vs X-men, but he gets a beat down from the Phoenix Five and his powers were greatly diminished as a result.

This is pretty much one of my favorite Marvel Titles right now. Give this one a few more issues and it may be my favorite. It's definitely the best of the "X" titles out there. This one is pulling me into the story harder than any other title, by going inside the mind of one of the best villains/tragic heroes ever. Side note, does anyone else find it interesting that Cullen Buenn is writing this and Sinestro(which I haven't picked up yet), as there are some pretty clear-cut parallels between the two characters?

The book really went in-depth taking a look at what Magento's existence in the Marvel Universe has meant and who he is as a person. Not to mention the latter part of the book does a tremendous job of pumping the reader up for some events in Axis. Let's just say Magneto forms a much cooler version of the Thunderbolts. IF you've been reading this book up to this point it has really paid off.

I read the first trade and loved it. Bunn has Magneto's mindset down to a T. I like the two artists that are drawing it, adding a gritty feel and darker atmosphere. Do you think i can skip 7-10 and pick up 11 and figure it out easily? I AM reading Axis.

I have really been digging the street level take on Magneto and his atonement quest.
It is unfortunate that that story now has to take a back seat to an event. I wish folks would stop buying these so Marvel would in turn stop producing them and we could focus back on the individual characters in their individual books. Forcing we to read other books I don't buy in order to follow the story of a character whose book I do buy is a pain in the butt.
I await the return of the excellent book this was on the other side.

I felt like the Axis Tie-ins have stayed very close to the actual story that has been told up to this point. Magneto has been searching for people who have been committing crimes against mutants. It's only logical that this would eventually lead him to the Red Skull, because of his actions. Not to mention the tie-in issues for this series have stayed linear to the effect that AXIS isn't necessary to read to enjoy it so far.

I'd add my voice to the positives on this one. Not thrilled with books I read being drawn into events but here at least it seems organic. You can really feel how much Magneto would hate the red skull. I wanna see him treated like shaw in the first class movie, slow and dirty.

If you want just a good look at Magneto as a character then read just 11. However, if you want to read one of the better solo character series at Marvel right now, then read the whole run.

This is one of the better Marvel books on the shelf right now, I really like the tone. Magneto is one of the more interesting characters Marvel has to offer when written properly.
