hey guys! So Image just announced the addition of James Robinson, Emma Rios, and Brandon Graham to the Image Expo lineup; way excited, naturally. I'm already familiar with Emma (who's just about my favorite artist on the planet)and Graham (immense love for Prophet), but although i've heard James Robinson's name bandied about here and there, I can't say i'm familiar with his work. Care to help a brother out with a couple of choice suggestions? He's most acclaimed for his run on DC's Starman, and I very much enjoyed the mini-series The Golden Age, and the current All-New Invaders (sadly coming to an end) is a fabulous read, too. So it's official, then? All-New Invaders is definitely ending? Do you know when?

On an artistic level, it might be hard to keep the series up-to-speed without Steve Rogers as Cap, and with Namor as a full-time villain, as he currently stands in Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers.

Hey I was wondering if you guys bag and board your comics and what you think of it. Love the show! I love bagging and boarding comics. It's part of the collectors mentality, to protect and put away, what they buy. Plus, it's therapeutic...

I like bag and boarding for the simple fact that it makes it easier to flip through in a box
Try flipping though a bunch of comics in a box that are not boarded and you will see what I mean

If sony goes under do to the email and film leaks, would the license to spiderman revert back to marvel or go to the studio that buys sony's film division? Before the first Raimi film the license to spiderman change hands from various studios and production companies. Do you think this is likely to happen again?-Huie Cox

Maybe this is redundant after the book of the year awards, but I was wondering: if you could only have 2 books in your pull, what would they be?
I think I would go with Death Vigil and Black Science.

Talking Comics Gang,
I'm a long-time listener and I'm curious if any of you have ever read any of Eric Powell's "The Goon" books by Dark Horse, or Chris Dingess' "Manifest Destiny" by Image (Skybound). I have been a huge fan of "The Goon" for several years, and recently discovered "Manifest Destiny", which is now a new favorite also. I don't think I have ever heard either title mentioned on the podcast, and I believe both should be given a "shout out".
In a nutshell, "The Goon" follows (surprise) The Goon and his buddy Frankie, as well as a crazy supporting cast, as they try to prevent their town from being overrun by vampires, harpies, sea hags, zombie priests, and the like. And "Manifest Destiny" is a fictional account of the Lewis and Clark expedition, where we find out in the first few pages of issue #1 that President Jefferson has sent the party to destroy "monsters" to help clear the way for expansion of the U.S.
I highly recommend both books to all and believe Bobby and Steve, in particular, would really dig them. The creativity, writing, and art on both books are phenomenal. Thanks!

Am I the only one excited by the Fantastic Four trailer? Ill admit I was ready to hate it, but I allowed it to win me over. For me it feels very true to the Fantastic Four. In a grounded universe it allows them to truly be fantastic. For film I think they will work better as the only superheroes in this world. To me it feels like a mixture between Jurassic Park and Cronenburg's The Fly. Which I love. I've read Lee/kirby, Hickman and a little bit the ultimate. And I see many of the best elements of those stories in the trailer. The actors and trank seem to capture the imaginative spirit of the comics, while creating something new. I don't think I would be as excited if it turned out to be just a carbon copy of the comics I've read. I do hope it's in a separate universe from the xmen, I think it order for this to work they need to keep them isolated. For now I'm optimistic, we'll see in august. PS if you check the coordinates on sue storm's computer. It takes you to a wiki of latveria. Hopefully Doctor Doom dosn't have goat feet.

The amount of times listeners must say "Have you guys thought of doing *insert idea here* on the show?" must be overwhelming.
But... I was very very curious, because you guys have done a lot of Top ... lists, whether it be comics, music, movies, shows etc.
I thought it would be interesting to get the Talking Comics opinion/perspective on the "Essesntial Top 10" comics/graphic novels of all time that you see in most lists all over the place. Especially because you guys, like me, have only been hardcore reading for the last few years or so. And many of those essentials are years old. It would be cool to hear you guys pick them apart and see how they stand by your standards today. And its funny because these books are so well known and famous, but so many people haven't read them, I personally have only read some of them (it took me years to finally pick up Watchmen) or some even not at all yet.
I've had a look at all the lists I could find from Time or IGN or Amazon and so on and these are the most consistently listed books (there are ones like Preacher, Swamp Thing, Fables and Sandman that are HUGE runs rather than graphic novels so I left them out as it would be super difficult/impossible to get through them all) I struggled to get it to 10, best I could do was 12. Watchmen Dark Knight Returns Maus Daredevil Man Without Fear Killing Joke Bone Black Hole Marvels V For Vendetta Kingdom Come X-Men God Loves Man Kills All-Star Superman

What DC book would you want Bendis to write? We may not get it for a while, but it's fun to think about.

Just finished Prometheus/alien/predator/avp Fire and stone and am just wondering if anyone else has and what your thoughts were?? I feel though it had great writers on the books the story didn't really go anywhere? And as for releasing it out of sink I think that was to mask the fact it didn't go anywhere!! Thoughts??

Hi guys, love the show! I have a question I've been mulling over for a while and it's definitely something I've heard talk of before but wanted to hear all your thoughts: Do you think we're entering a new age of comics? With the last few years of Image Comics going from strength to strength, companies like Boom and IDW following suit, and now the steady wave of diverse comics coming from Marvel and DC (in terms of both subject matter and style, from Ms Marvel to Gotham Academy) is this a trend that's worth noting with a new "Age"? And if so, what would you call it? (Besides, the "modern age", such as it is, has been around for a while now ) Thanks for your time, looking forward to your thoughts!
