So today is a big day for me, as the MLB season opens. I LOVE baseball ( the mets). Actually I'm a huge sports fan across the board. Anyone else have a sports passion?

I'm a big fan as well, but being from the South I tend to enjoy football a little more than other sports. College football is always a big deal here in Alabama year round, however I'm a big NBA and NFL fan as well. My teams are Alabama, Miami Heat, and the Carolina Panthers.

Being Welsh, I've always loved rugby, it's our national sport and the country stops whenever Wales play. The sport I love most, though, is football (the soccer kind) and I'm a season ticket holder for my home team, Cardiff City. Who are currently, but probably not long for, in the Premier League.

I grew up playing hockey and my dad grew up play baseball so sports were always pretty big in the house. I've always been a more a fan of players rather than teams which is mainly why none of the teams I root for are actually local. Baseball and hockey are my two favorites with the NFL being third team wise it's NHL: Red Wings, MLB: Yankees, and NFL: Jets. It's going to be rough for the next few years considering all 3 teams are technically rebuilding.

Like Huw I'm a big fan of football here in the UK. Being Scottish, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a National Team covering themselves in glory in either football or rugby so in my daily life I torture myself as a full-time Queens Park Rangers supporter. Seems there is a dyed-in-the-wool dislike for Cardiff fans since the infamous play-off incident a decade or so ago but as my best friend is a Cardiff fan and I've never held stock in hand-me-down hatred, I feel nothing but empathy for the Bluebirds' struggle this season. Still a good chance you'll stay up. I can spot 3 clubs that are in worse form than Cardiff at the moment.

Although I live in North Carolina, I grew up near Philadelphia and remain a huge Philly sports fan. I grew up playing a lot of baseball, so the Phillies are still my favorite team of any. It seems like our 2008 championship was a long time ago, but the beginning of the season always gives a reason to keep hope alive.
I still don't know what to think about the Eagles releasing Desean Jackson, especially now that he's signed with the Washington football team. That first game between them will be interesting to say the least.
And the Sixers tank-tastic season has been interesting to watch, here's hoping we get two top ten draft picks.
I also studied abroad and lived in Mexico for a while, so that helped me become a big soccer fan. I lived in Guadalajara, home of Javier Hernandez currently with Manchester United, but also home to Chivas, probably the most popular club team in Mexico. I've never been to anything like their home games and learned a lot of Spanish swear words and slang at those matches.

Being Welsh, I love Rugby, huge Ospreys fan. Also love football and follow Swansea (hides from Huw, lol). Although I have to say Vincent Tan has accomplished one thing no Cardiff chairman has ever managed, and that has made Jacks sympathise with your plight. I used to be season ticket holder growing up, but i've lived in Portsmouth for 15 years and live right next to fratton park so currently go and watch some awful league 2 football in a dilapidated ground. It reminds me of watching the swans at the vetch in the 80s and 90s.

The Jacks are where they are by right and deserve the success they've had. I sympathise with you going to watch Portsmouth, I saw football of a similar quality at Ninian Park not too long ago.

I thought Malky would have kept you up. Solskjaer seems a bit like a rabbit in the headlights to be honest. Just hope you get rid of Tan and get back to playing in Blue. With your fan base and potential the club has, you should be able to attract better owners than that Madman. With regards the national team, for the first time in years I'm optimistic about qualifying for a tournament (despite Coleman being in charge). I'm still haunted by Paul Bodin hitting the crossbar against Romania.
