Sean Murphy on The Wake but weirdly I'm not keen on his art for Batman Black & White. Nick Pitarra On The Manhattan Projects for that shaky, long-limbed line work. Jae Lee, who made me break my NO 'BEFORE WATCHMEN' PURCHASES rule by making Ozymandias' origin interesting. Same for Batman/Superman which has turned bog standard after he left. Rafael Albuquerque could draw horror without dialogue effectively. Mike Mignola draws me in to a book like no other with his art. Hellboy is like pouring through an ancient text. Emma Rios, Felipe Andrade, Robbi Rodriquez, Gabriel Rodriguez, JH Williams II, Roc Upchurch, Fiona Staples, Esad Ribic, have also rocked my world.

Mike Allred Francesco Francavilla (especially his work with the Black Beetle) Stuart Immonen Ed McGuinness (My favorite of his is the JLA confidential where Batman purchases a UFO to use robot versions of the JLA to fight an army of talking apes. Or something.) Charles Burns JH Williams III
Sean Murphy and Amy Reeder are jumping to the top of my list lately, too, but they're pretty new to me.
Hmmm... Who am I forgetting?

I would have Pichelli on USM or Guardians any day her visuals are always fresh and crisp. Though the Maguire art was pretty fantastic, the expressions and detail on the faces was just right. Would be great to see Guardians bounce between he and Pichelli. Going back to the OP too: Art in comics is so subjective. What one person loves can turn another off a book. I love that. Its what keeps all books from looking the same. For instance i LOVE humberto Ramos and Chris Bachalo but I'm not a fan of John Romita Jr's art. I know other people love his style and arent fans of the two i mentioned. Who are some of your guys favorites? I have to say I'm a fan of Romita Jnr. His Thor run back in the 90's was my first time reading Thor and it really struck me as visually awesome, his style seemed so unique at the time. I followed him over the to Spider-Man after that, and always loved the art on the book (if nothing else). Then his run on the original Kick-Ass series reminded me what I loved about his style after not following him for some time. Where are you guys at with Romita Jnr? I think his styles pretty pleasing anyway. Great even!

Loving Francavilla, Jock, Mignola, Bachalo, Allred, Stegman, Samnee and of course Fiona Staples. Add Ben Templesmith to the list too, him leaving 10 Grand actually caused me to drop the book. Art that kills my eyes? Two words, Rob. Liefeld.

Lots of great artists already mentioned. I first saw Francesco Francavilla's artwork in Detective Comics as part of Scott Snyder's The Black Mirror storyline and have been following his art since then. I've also loved Ming Doyle's art in both Mara and now Quantum and Woody.
One artist who I sometimes love but sometimes can't get into is Paul Pope. I love his art in Batman Year 100 and Battling Boy, but his other stuff has not drawn me in as much (but still respect his awesome talent). At times I like the anime/manga inspired style, and I do appreciate his skills at world building. Anyone else have thoughts on Paul Pope?

skeeball - You and I have similar taste. I had to Google a couple of the names on your list, and I was VERY impressed with Mike Parobeck. Absolutely gorgeous stuff. I also should add Nick Bradshaw and Chris Burnham to my list.

Those stories, and his art, deserve to be seen by readers of every generation.

Right now I'm enjoying Allred and Samnee, though I'm not TOO picky as long as the art isn't so far out there that it takes away from the story. I love the Skottie Young covers as well, have you seen his silver surfer variant? Let me just throw my money at you now
