Hey all!
Your friendly neighborhood Bobby Shortle here! I'm from Long Island, NY! My username is in honor of Buff the Vampire Slayer and I didn't really truly getting into reading comics until the New 52! My prize geek possession is probably something very personal to me. I did a stage production of the Hobbit in college which I wrote, and I still have my sword Sting from it.

I think he's from Dusseldorf or something? and angelus104, diggin the buffy reference. I would have never guessed that you weren't super into comics until the last couple years. Howdy folks! First off, I absolutely love Talking Comics. I'd been sampling many comic-related podcast for a while and settled on TC about a year ago to follow regularly. It's nice to see a show focus on not just the Big Two, and refreshing that y'all present honest opinions on the comic world. Many podcasts just seem like commercials for Big Two books, but y'all present a great discussion each week. So thanks!
Anyways, I'm Ross from San Antonio TX. I got into comics by way of Watchmen and TDKR (pretty standard) then dove into the New 52 when it launched. The Marvel Unlimited app has been a godsend, I've had it since July.
What I'm reading: Tons, but favorites are Batman, Saga, The Wake, The Manhattan Projects, East of West, JL Dark (until Forever Evil...), All-New, Uncanny, and Adjectiveless X-men

Hey everybody! My name is Trea (pronounced Tray) and I'm from Dallas, Texas. I have always liked superheros, but never read any of the comics. However, when I found out that DC had relaunched everything with The New 52, I decided to jump on board. It was almost a year after the fact, but I acquired as much as I could and settled in pretty easily. It's crazy how consumed you can get. As of right now, I'm mostly reading Marvel, Image, and only a little DC. Everything they talk about on the podcast I WANT to read, but my wallet says otherwise. I have too many toys/comics to pick my "Prized Geek Possession." Looking forward talk comics with new friends.
My pull list consist of
DC
Batman Superman Unchained The Wake
MARVEL
Daredevil Guardians of the Galaxy Superior Spider-Man IMAGE
Black Science
East of West
The Walking Dead
SAGA
Velvet

Seems like an influx of members after the podcast today. Awesome! I actually was like the third person to register But this stuff was still super secret from all the listeners/readers. Remembered the forum link when posting a review early. Anyways, great to be here and see people signing up. I get to talk comics to like zero people out here in Japan.

Hi everyone - looks like there are an awful lot of us from the UK here, and I'm another one! Like a couple of other folks have said in their intros, the podcast has been invaluable to me as the closest I get to talking comics and has turned me on to a bunch of good books. Name: Ed Where I'm from: Oxford, UK How I got into comics / potted reading history: My first comics experience was the Marvel UK weeklies of the late 70's with Hulk Comic having a particularly fond place in my memories - a mix of US reprints (in black and white) and new material from British creators, including my favourite at the time Night Raven with gorgeous, pre-"V for Vendetta" David Lloyd art. This also lead to an early and influential exposure to Marvel's Silver Age, since most of the Marvel UK weekly comics around this time re-printed US Marvels from the 60's and 70's - Avengers, FF, Silver Surfer, X-men, Captain America and (for some reason...) the Beast's brief run originally from Amazing Fantasy all stick in my mind. I kept reading through the highlight period of "Daredevils" which reprinted Frank Miller's Daredevil alongside original Alan Moore / Alan Davis Captain Britain. The 80's were a tough time to read American comics if you lived in rural England - very few comic shops back then and the rise of the direct market meant the newsagents were no longer stocking imports the way they had a few years earlier, so for the second half of the 80's I pretty much survived on a diet of 2000AD - which (among many other great things) included Grant Morrison's Zenith so it wasn't all bad! I mostly read Vertigo and indies through the 90's, occasionally looking towards superheroes when it looked like something particularly interesting was happening, and by the 2000's was only reading the odd TPB here and there. Then discovered Comixology a couple of years ago and am now well and truly back to reading on a monthly basis, and loving much of what is now out there. In between reading comics I managed to learn a little science, but despite working at a variety of particle accelerators for more than 15 years now I still haven't managed to develop any super-powers... What I'm reading: Loads of stuff, but Manhatten Projects, Fatale, Rachel Rising, anything Hellboy and Rat Queens have all found themselves at the front of the queue to be read any week they come out. Proudest geek possession: I'm not all that much of a collector (see my easy conversion to reading digitally) but I'm very fond of my complete Sandman run.
