Alright so I have been a huge Marvel fan for more then 20 years. The problem, in those years I haven't really followed comics. I would pick up a trade here and there but never bought issues week to week. I have decided I want to jump in and am curious as to where I should jump in at and what titles.
I have always loved the X-Men so I lean toward them. I was thinking the A vs X stuff might be fun to start at since it seems much of the current stuff has been affected by that. I have read most of Civil War as well but the time between Civil War and now seems too great to get into to.
Thus far I have been reading Amazing X-Men, Wolverine (new run which kind of is meh), All New X-Factor, and X-Force. I'm debating trying Uncanny Avengers and a few non X-Men titles (Daredevil, Silver Surfer, both Miss and Captain Marvel books, and Moon Knight)
Not sure if this was the right place for a post like this but I figured I would try since you all seem to know quite a bit about this sort of thing lol.

If your wanting to start reading on a week to week basis I would recommend focusing primarily on the current issues coming out and get the Marvel Unlimited App to catch up on back issues. This will let you read back issues and save a ton of money, plus if you really like something you can always pick up the trade. I currently have somewhat of the same method when it comes to weekly reading. I try to pick up the books that follow the pulse of the 3 major areas of Marvel Comics : X-men, Avengers, and Spider-man. Everything else is mostly about solo characters or different but less "canon" sections of the Marvel Universe. I read
All New X-men - Follows the new time displace X-men Uncanny X-men - Follows Scott and his side of the schism Wolverine and the X-men - Follows Wolverines side of the schism
Avengers - The major public action of the team New Avengers - Behind the scenes Illuminati Avengers Undercover - Young Avengers/ Heroes
Superior Spider-man Fantastic Four
Then find a few solo characters or unique teams that interest you, for me personally I get: Captain Marvel, Magneto, Thor, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Uncanny Avengers, Black Widow, Mighty Avengers and Punisher.
