It’s IDW’s 15th anniversary and so we talk with publisher Ted Adams about the history of IDW, his thoughts on diversity in comics and what it means to be the publisher in today’s landscape.
We of course still talk about our favourite Books of the Week which include: Fear Agent, X-Force, Veil, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, The Movement, Tomb Raider, Afterlife with Archie, Action Comics, Forever Evil and more!
What are your thoughts on another great Talking Comics podcast? What rewards would you like to receive for donating to the expansion and technological advancement of the TCU*? Discuss anything and everything from the show, right here!
Annnnnnnnnnd… we say it on the show, but just in case you missed it, the Talking Comics crew on Twitter are:

Another great podcast.
Coming into it, I wasn't too excited about the IDW interview (sorry!) - but it was actually very interesting. Which is a great reflection on an engaging guest, plus thoughtful questions from you guys.
At the end of the show Bobby mentioned that recording a podcast can seem like speaking into a vacuum. So I just wanted to let you know that I've been listening and enjoying the podcast for well over a year. The four of you bring a great mix of diverse interests and opinions matched with a fabulous rapport. Whilst I don't always agree with you (I'm still reading and enjoying Worlds' Finest!) every week you deliver an all-round entertaining and thought provoking show that in my opinion is one of the best comics podcasts out there.

Great show all around.
I always find it interesting to find out how some publishers initially start out. I never really kept up with IDW except for 30 days and Locke and Key. I only just started paying more attention after their signing of 44 Flood. I sat and royally had a long drawn out conversation with them ending in my purchasing of Tome Vol. 1.
As to the books of the week I cannot recommend Fear Agent enough. I have the first volume of the hardcover and the story gets much more deeper and you find out why Heath is such a damaged individual. This has Jerome Opena also doing arcs off and on with Tony Moore. Heck the intro from Remender alone is worth the price of admission. Bobby also recommended Remender's Uncanny X-Force. All I can say is find it, get it, read it.

Really good episode, thoroughly enjoyed the interview as well. I dont read too much IDW but I've been looking into Transformers since thats the only way to get good Transformers stories anymore. Going to wait until the next arc to jump in.

I can't recommend that uncanny Xforce run enough. It's 35 issues of nothing but fantastic writing and action. Also, bobby was right, the best use of deadpool recently. Maybe ever.

Andrew Not to basically repeat what Andrew said above, but I also want to say that I wasn't looking forward to the IDW interview, only because it's a company that I do not read at all. However, after listening to Ted Adams talk so passionately about his company (and without putting down any of his "competitors," either!), it's inspired me to at least check out IDW's line in the future and see if there's a place where I can jump in. Does anyone currently reading IDW have any suggestions? I'm not big on the childhood nostalgia stuff like TMNT, Transformers, or GI Joe and I'm mostly a superhero kind of reader. I'm like Judge Dredd (mainly thanks to the movie Dredd) so I was thinking about that but there's such a rich history to it that I'm not sure I'll be able to jump right in. I'm willing to try it though. I can also definitely understand the "speaking into a vacuum" analogy for podcasting. I've been writing comic reviews lately for another site and not getting any comments on them, which makes me feel like no one is reading them. I know for a fact that isn't true but it can still feel like that, which is why I try to comment as frequently as possible on Talking Comics, particularly to reviews, because I know what it's like to not get any feedback on something you've spent a good deal of time writing. I'm also constantly recommending the podcast whenever someone on another forum or group asks for any good comic podcasts. I love the fact that your podcast takes up three-hours-plus of my ten-hour workday.

Great episode as always. I was kinda worried there weren't going to be any comics discussed in the episode but I was mistaken. I have to agree that Moon Knight was an amazing book and it has a Pulp-esque quality to it that I absolutely love! I'll be sticking with this one for the long run unless the change the creative team. The Ted Adams interview was pretty cool as well. Great job guys.
P.S. I really envy Bob... he has too many classic/amazing books and I have NONE! LOL!
Peace.

Manuel, I shock myself sometimes; "too many" being the operative phrase! I was just going through the box of Captain America books, and for some reason I can't now fathom I have two copies of #100 (the first Silver Age solo book), having bought an up-grade for my childhood copy which was perfectly servicable. I also recently discovered that I have a double run of Dazzler--go figure!

I seem to vaguely recall that as one of the first direct sales books that I was buying it both at a comics store and from a news-stand, but who knows?
