Hi all,
Is anyone else feeling like this book is lost its way... I really used to enjoy this book, now I feel it is hard work to get through it. contemplating dropping it, however as i do not read any other lantern books think it is a bit of a shame

I dropped it a couple issues after the whole Lights Out....it really has lost it's way. I thought the idea of Kyle traveling across the universe with the Guardians would be fun, but not really.

I have to say I've really enjoyed the last couple of issues of New Guardians as both have been self-contained stories that have focused on an overview of societal issues and the dynamic with the New Guardians has been humorous. I think Kyle's character has taken a bit of a back seat and I can understand the criticism though.
What with the wealth of enjoyable new characters in Green Lantern Corps I think New Guardians has certainly dropped to the bottom of the pile of Lantern titles (not reading Larfleeze, mind you) but I'm liking it all at the moment.

I'm more interested to see what that 7th guardian is up to. I hope it leads to more New Gods.

Aww... I thought that was cute hehe I thought that was a nice nod to the fact that they haven't spent ANY time getting to know the New Guardians. I couldn't name any of them at this point.

If you were to pick up New Guardians then now is the time to do it as they're laying a lot of tracks for future stories but as I said a few comments back, there are 3 other Green Lantern books I'd check out before this one, and I'd agree with majorjay that Soule's Red Lanterns would be the first in line.

Soule got the tone of the book right from the get-go. He pulled you in with the absurdity of it all and the over-the-top rage. I just lent Volume 1 to a friend who hasn't read comics in a few years and he loved it.

Yeah I'm thinking of dropping NG too, when I started getting it at the start I liked that it was a team up book with the other colours of the spectrum, it's just a bit.... Boring now? I went along with the big crossovers so it seems a shame to drop it now- it's on my warming list. I agree with red lanterns being good, think I'll switch over to the full time if NG goes nowhere in the next couple of issues. BRING BACK THE BLUES!
