Comics - Comic Books Are Burning in Hell - easily the best podcast on comics (sorry guys, don't hate me) The Orbital Pod - despite some terrible whiney self-righteous presenters The Thrillcast - 2000AD's own podcast Sunnyside Comics - Northern Irish irregular podcast. Good for insider gossip on any Irish talent as they all come on with no filter
Non-Comics Travis Bickle on the Riveria - cult / alt / 80s movie focused show. A companion to Comic Books Are Burning In Hell Trash Twins - the 'misfits' of the Travis Bickle / Comic Books show - more sex and blood orientated. Not as funny but informative. The Skeptics Guide to the Universe - science show Dr Karl on Tripple J - Hilarious australian phone in science show... australians are all obsessed with drinking and their genitals The National Archives - UK history lecture series From Our Own Correspondent - BBC foreign correspondents post about life in other cultures or more detail on big news stories Crossing Continents - global 'stories' - 30 minutes on one topic (a diary of someone getting a green card, an exploration of japanese paedophile manga, women protesters in Greece, Colombia's disappeared burial pits were the last 4 to give a flavour) In Our Time - weekly hour on philosophy / science / history from UK academics. One topic per week. Econtalk - academic economics (a tad conservative but tries hard to be balanced and admits it's bias) World Football Phone In - as it sounds Football Weekly - funny review of the past few days type show. Wait Wait Don't Tell Me - mainly for Paula Poundstone and Bobcat Goldthwait
Very surprised nobody mentioned Comic Books Are Burning In Hell. It's a cut above.

Have you listened to the BBC's Documentaries podcast? It's called just that, just 'Documentaries'. It's by the BBC World Service. I've found that the stuff talked about on Crossing Continents comes from those documentaries. If you like the BBC World Service stuff, Documentaries is amazing most of the time. The most disturbing podcast I've ever listened to was from the Documentaries series. It was about the mental health crisis in America, where people with mental health issues end up incarcerated because of the lack of facilities to care for them. The episode is called, America's New Bedlam. Another one which was amazing but also disturbing, was this episode about a boat full of migrants that was adrift in the Mediterranean a year or two ago, for a week or two, that was passed many, many times by ships and even helicopters but was ignored and left there. Can't remember the name of that one though. There was a documentary recently about Abdi from Eastleigh in Nairobi getting his green card, that I think you mentioned. The BBC World Service also have a new series around the technology, psychology, culture and science of food, called The Food Chain, which is very interesting too.

For any aspiring writers, I've been enjoying The Longform Podcast, part of www.longform.org Each week they do about an hour-long interview with mostly non-fiction writers, but will occasionally interview fiction writers and editors. Informative and high quality.

I've been holding off posting in this thread 'till my shop published my blog on this particular subject, and lo, after many months and several drafts it went up today! So here're my favorites, at length, 'cause that's how I do (there are a couple of parentheses missing, and a comma or two; I promise you they were in the original text I sent along; c'est la vie): reviews.empirescomics.com/2015/03/tony-asaro-lists-favorite-podcasts.html

I've just discovered Harmontown with Dan Harmon (writer of Community) and Jeff Davis (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) and it has replaced all regular programming for me at the moment - except Talking Comics and Talking Movies of course.
Coherent and foul-mouthed ramblings that lead in to an ongoing D&D Adventure with occasional guests like Ryan Stiles, and Greg Proops.

I just started listening to 'Let's Talk Comics' (very similar in name I know) but its just one-on-one interviews with comic creators. Really good interviews. Especially the one with Mark Millar. Really interesting, especially the way Marvel works.

Cool that this thread is still going (although my phone is already bursting with shows I haven't listened to!)\ Some new one's I've been into lately (non-comics) NPR's Invisibilia - www.npr.org/programs/invisibilia/ for fans of Radiolab "explores the intangible forces that shape human behavior" Note - episode "How to Become Batman" does not talk about the DC character (but is awesome nonetheless) Bittersweet Life - www.thebittersweetlife.net/A discussion of ex-patriot life in Rome. Memory Palace - thememorypalace.us/Really cool, short stories from history. & 1 comics-related one that I don't think I've seen mentioned here: Less than live with Kate or Die villagesoundcast.com/less-than-live-with-kate-or-die/AKA the fabulous kate leth! with awesome guests

New discovery! Oh, Comics! podcast from Panels. Just checking out the latest episode and so far I am enjoying it. panels.net/category/podcast/Comics Therapy - another comics podcast I don't think has been mentioned which I've sort of fallen off of, but I really like the format (in-depth analysis, not reviews, of two or three books a week). www.comicstherapy.com/

Aside from Talking Comics & The Missfits, I love listening to Comics Alternative & the Final Issue Podcast! I believe Final Issue is fairly new. I listen to quite a few non-comic podcasts as well!
