The new reboot of Thief was released today. Thief is a franchise with a long and storied history. Have you played any of the previous games? Do you intend to play this one? What are your thoughts on it as a whole?

Havent played any but this game never really grabbed my attention. I played Dishonored and absolutely loved it but this kinda seemed like a lesser version of it. Reviews have not been kind to this game either.

I was semi intrigued on it but the reviews have really turned me off. I haven't played any of the games prior to this one but it sounds like I'm not missing out

I just finished the game over the weekend and yeah...most of you aren't missing anything. It's a 6/10 at best. The stealth elements are really good and the gameplay is incredibly solid but the navigating outside of missions and the story/dialogue are a chore to sit through.

I almost picked this up when I got my ps4, kind of glad I didn't at this point. I'll wait until I can find a used one for a decent price, or rent it. Question to all. I didn't like Assassin's creed 1 or 2, so I never bothered with 3. 4 looks interesting with the whole pirate element and sailing aspects introduced to the game, you think someone who didnt like the first couple (mostly because they got very repetitive) will enjoy the 4th?

I LOVE LOVE LOVED Assasin's Creed: Black Flag! If you're at all a fan of pirates and/or exploration in a MASSIVE setting then this is your game! I can't even begin to describe to you how obsessed I was with it for weeks on end. I would play it from morning till night without so much as glancing at a clock. I haven't played Thief, but from what I've heard from many reliable sources is that it's buggy as all get out and feels like a poor man's version of Dishonored.

I've played them all, AC 1 is skipable but if you want the intro story I say play it. But be warned the mechanics and game play are a little wonky, its expected though since the game is pretty old now. AC 2 and Brotherhood remain my 2 favorites of the series, they're the 2 I urge anyone to play if they are going to play any of the AC games. Revelations wasnt bad but it was a pretty weak follow up to AC2/Brotherhood. IMO this is where the AC series started getting stale for me. AC 3 I'd say avoid or only buy if its on sale for really cheap, cool mechanics and concept just didnt really deliver. Not to mention the main character isnt all that great. Black Flag is fun, I havent finished it yet but the pirate ship battles are fun and the story is back to going in a cool direction. To sum it up short. Must plays: AC2, AC Brotherhood, Black Flag. Skip: Revelations, AC3.
