Is anyone else getting slightly irritated - not with the events themselves - but the insistence of every event beginning and end to be subtitled Alpha/Omega or Omega/Alpha?
Staggering lack of imagination.

Is anyone else concerned about the future of this book beyond Black Vortex? Looking at sales #'s it has been on the decline every month and in November has dropped to 19K. Generally this is a very bad omen for the future.... Gawddammit! I hadn't heard about this 'event' either. Definitely not going to be picking up 6+ other titles to get the story. If it turns out to be AMAZING I'll consider getting the trade but that is highly unlikely. Hopefully they can retain momentum. I have a feeling we'll see this series end and it get relaunched (again) in the not too distant future to boost interest/sales and they get closer to the film.

I could certainly see a re-launch tied into the film, but there may be a whole slew of new #1s before that depending on how the various Marvel events play out. I wouldn't doubt that a "Home Again/Return to Earth" arc for Carol might be in the works.

After my previous grumbling about the space-based issues, Issue #10 really reminded me of why I kept on this book. Haven't read #11 yet but looking forward to it arriving on my desk after Bob's recommendation on today's Podcast.

Lenny, It's all I described and much, much more as I didn't want to spoil its pleasures! Enjoy!

yeah i loved #10. Didn't like #11 at all, the *surprise guest* broke it for me, but #10 was phenomenal, and in general I think this whole second arc has been really, really outstanding (vastly better than the first arc, to me). I think Bob and Bobby touched on a good point, though, that her time in space has made the homecoming that much more effective and emotionally resonant; absence and fond hearts, and all that.

I kinda want to get a barometer of how people feel about Kelly Sue's second volume of Captain Marvel? Personally, I'm really not loving the outer space setting for Carol. The first series was absolutely amazing when it remained on a personal / street level, but the cosmic story line has lacked the same heart for me. I find it slipping further and further down in my reading pile. Does anyone else feel the same way or are you guys loving it just the same?

The current volume is ok for me. I much prefer the run before this one, so much more. I'm not into the flerken stuff at all. It's too much for me. It's gotten way too "cute", for me. It's not bad, and I'll always buy it. It's just become something I'm not into.

Stay Fly is definitely my favorite of the Kelly Sue volumes so far, counting both series. It's a helluva a lot of fun

I'm still enjoying it but as others have said on here, compared to the previous run it is lacking. A couple of solid one-offs here and there but the overall story hasn't been up to scratch.

I know it's almost sacrilege to say, but I'm not really enjoying this volume that much. I think last volume got so badly de-railed by the Infinity interruption that it's never really recovered. Carol's mind-wipe has been talked about but not really addressed emotionally. And going into space allowed it to be ignored almost entirely.
The other factor for me is David Lopez's art. I've just never cared for his style and it's been a huge distraction.
The biggest factor, though, is the loss of Carol's supporting cast from the first volume. While they may have been in issues 10 and 11 she didn't interact with them. Huge disappointment.
Don't know how much of these changes are editorially driven or KSD's choices, but just not working for me this go-round. I'll continue to support the book since Carol's one of my all-time favorite characters, but hoping for a change for the better, a return to the tone of last volume after Secret War.....

It's not at all sacrilege to not love this run, it's not the end all be all and it's ok to not love something. I agree 100 percent with you. Instead of addressing the issues, they chose to tell jokes, and make it cute. Don't get me wrong, it's ok to me. But it's nothing special, it's got some strong legs though I'm just waiting for it to get really good.

Well, hah! Damn! I guess i'm the only one who considers this the best of it to-date? Fair enough I suppose, though I have to say it's unexpected to be standing alone for this stuff. Santa aside, Stay Fly was utterly delightful
For me, Marcio Takara is the best Kelly Sue's-Carol artist we've seen so far, this side of Emma Rios, and thankfully he seems to just about have taken it over from Lopez

If you think it's the best to date, then that's awesome. As long as people are enjoying and buying this stuff, then it's all gravy!!

so this is one of the titles on the list of "33 books that will end in one form or another after Secret Wars" Honestly, in this particular case, with the most recent two-part mini-arc with Ellis really falling flat for me (after i'd been loving the arc leading up to that), and Black Vortex now elbowing its way into the series (ugh), this isn't much of a surprise, nor is it particularly unwelcome. It seems very rough treatment to reboot the series YET AGAIN, so soon, and it's certainly true that Carol just can't catch a break in terms of flow and continuity and inertia, but as mentioned in the article i'm sure she'll continue to have a book, whatever it may end up being called (Superior Captain Marvel?), and Kelly Sue will probably still be writing it, but this seems as good a time as any to make the transition from singles to trades (or to dropping it altogether) for me in regards to this book. So . . thanks, Marvel? Sorta? For being total dicks and not letting this writer/character/title get any real momentum going ever for more than a few months at a time? Which has been really frustrating, but whatever, you're saving me money by treating one of my favorite characters so shabbily, and making it easy for me to drop it? :/ #FuuuuuuuuuuuuuckEvents #BagOfDicks www.themarysue.com/marvel-ending-captain-marvel-comic/
