I missed the last run, but I've heard it was fantastic. I'm definitely getting the first few issues and I'm sure it'll be added to my pull list.

Bob, FYI, I just read through #14 and wow. I was not expecting that but it totally fit the character. I am very interested to read the next issue and see how Carol has changed, and I'm even more excited for the new series now! Courtney, From that wonderful cover by Joe Quinones that reflects Carol's history, to that finale by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Scott Hepburn that marks its end, Captain Marvel #14 is one of the best single comic books that I've ever read, yet amazingly Ms. DeConnick (and Filipe Andrade) matched it with issue #17! As you say, Carol's decision was so in keeping with what Ms. DeConnick had built up of her character, personality and motivations, that it seemed inevitable for her to make that choice, and yet I found myself thinking "No! Don't do it!" The last two pages, with Kit's joyful "See Mom, I told you! Captain Marvel always saves the day!", through to this amazing "epitaph", are truly wonderments: "We tell her that heroes aren't defined by their powers or their costumes...but by the contents of their hearts."
"We tell her that we don't know what Carol's going to be like when she comes back. She might not remember us. She might not even remember herself...but we will know. We will know the light she has inside her because she showed us all today."
"We will know...She's Captain Marvel...She's our hero."
(Courtney, issues #15 and #16 are the "Infinity" cross-overs, which were very well done and show you the damage that's been done to Carol, and are important to how the series will conclude in #17. They may not seem related, but they do illuminate the depth of her sacrifice!) Bob, yes, those quotes are wonderful and beautifully written, and honestly if they had wrapped up Captain Marvel right there I would have been sad but thought it was an incredibly well-done series with a fitting exit. I'm going to start on 15 and 16 tonight after I read the new Loki comic, and I am really looking forward to 17 now that you say it's up to the level of 14!

Just got to the infinity tie ins and really like the book. Will hopefully be up to date for the new series. I'm excited by the prospect of the more cosmic story line as this is my favourite area of marvel.

Just finished reading issue one and seeing as it just came out I'll avoid any spoilers. I was excited for the relaunch and it does not disappoint! I laughed, I almost cried and then I laughed again. if you're a fan of the character definitely do not miss this. if you have been curious about her than it's a good place to jump on board. plus any book with 2 Star Wars references is a must buy in my books!

Ok guys, I have to admit that I had my doubts when they announced that this series would be re-launched. I finally sat down and read #1 today and was glad to see that the transition between the previous series and the new run is pretty seamless. I really like the overarching story that looks to be told and how it ties back to Infinity. One thing stood out to me, I don't remember Carol and Rhodey being "together", did this start up in another series or am I just forgetting something here?

I believe this is a new thing here....unless I missed something as well in books that I don't read.

I don't really know anything about Cosmic Marvel so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to know the characters at the first of the book, but I'm excited to see where the space stuff goes.

They also are new (unless they are obscure characters that might showed up in some Cosmic Marvel comic)....of course, the only cosmic stuff I read had been Anihilation, the current and previous Guardians of the Galaxy run and whatever I have read on Wikipedia lol

I honestly didn't realize how much I missed Carol Danvers until I read this new #1 (I caught up in realtime with a few issues left in volume 1). I reread the first page a couple of times because I felt like I was missing something, so when I turned to the black title page, I felt more comfortable. From there, I just had so much fun reading the issue & hanging out with Carol again. I liked the art and those final inner thoughts rocketed their way up among my top 10 favorite Carol thoughts. I must've read them 4-5 times. I completely agree that Carol's motivation for her upcoming story felt really natural & made a lot of sense. Also, Kit's Captain Marvel origin story at the back was a great way to incorporate it into the issue.
