Have you checked out the movie "The Knights of Badassdom" with Peter Dinkalage and Jason from True Blood. I feel like the humor elements would completely play into you and the fact that it's about LAARPing and medevil stuff that you would totally like it. Check it out I totally have plans to check that out. I wasn't aware the it was available yet. I know it had some trouble getting distribution a while back. I suppose they figured it all out.

Sammie and Steve, "The Knights of Badassdom" was actually directed by Joe Lynch, a friend and former co-worker of your Cranky Old Uncle Bob! When the trailer surfaced on-line, I made contact with Joe hoping to have him on our show, but he told me that the film has gone out of his control in another one of those sad Hollywood shenanigans over money, so the version that you'll be seeing isn't his vision for the film at all. He isn't going to do any press for this one, but he's in the midst of finishing what sounds like a very cool film with Salma Hayek, and with any luck will be joining us on Talking Comics to discuss that film...and comics, too, as he's a reader of the funny books! To see some of Joe's work, check out the very cool "Wrong Turn 2", a sequel that really doesn't need the original to be a fun piece of retro-horror goodness!

Don't know how his vision would have changed it but I enjoyed this version. The ending was a little cheesy (which is normally what gets changed the most), but I'm not the type where the last 5 mins. can ruin an entire movie. I had never heard of it but I do business with a local theater and they did a special showing a couple of months ago if they could sell enough tickets for it (they did the same for Plan 9 and Night of the Living Dead 3-D last Halloween). Took my 21 yr. old daughter (my movie buddy), somewhat reluctantly, but she even enjoyed it. It helped that we went to a Renaissance fair last year, made it even better.

Hey Steve, I know that I am possibly getting a little ahead of this weeks coming podcast but did you read The Bunker from OniPress this week and if so, what are your quick thoughts on it? Also, on the Manga front, a buddy of mine has bee reading Attack on Titan trades recently and loves the series. He recommended the TV show to me and I caught the first 4 episodes. As my first foray into the genre I was pleasantly surprised with the story. Have you read/watched any of Attack on Titan? Hey Kiro, Actually, in picking up my books for the week The Bunker #1 was not among them. I'll see what I can do about that and I'll get back to you. I have not seen Attack on Titan just yet, but I've heard nothing but amazing things about it. I call feel myself slowly creeping into Anime Mode, so when that happens, I'll be sure to check it out. I honestly can't remember the last time I watched an entire series of an anime. Aside from recently watching Neon Genesis all the way through a few weeks back. My last full season might have been High School of the Dead. o_0 I started watching attack on titan after it was mentioned on the Missfits. I don't watch a lot of anime and what I have watched was with English dub so put the first EP on with a little trepidation. 3 days and 25 eps later I can say don't wait!!! Go watch!!! It is insanely good.

So there was a comic podcast, then a ladies show, then a movie show and now a games show. So the question is when are you gonna do a music show?

I wouldn't dare subject you all to my musical opinion unless you ask for it directly. A music-related podcast will never happen. At least, not from me. Feel free to discuss all manner of music with me here though! I might shut down suggestions here and there, but I always welcome the opportunity to hear something new, no matter what!

Greetings Steve! I would start off by saying thank you for your work on the podcast. I also have to say (generally) I vibe with your opinion the most and think you have a similar thought process as my own so it's nice to hear your contribution. Anyways, I'm sure you've answered this question before, but who are your favorite super heroes from Marvel and DC? And Why? And who are your favorite super villains? And... Why?
Thanks for your time, Nicolas
Also I saw some posts on manga and if you are a fan then you should check out Bakuman. It really helped me get an insight to the process of manga and made me analyze series that I read on a much deeper and intellectual level.

Hi Steve,
Hope you got my tweet the other day. X-Factor volume 1 came out last month maybe and it is well worth picking up as Bob mentioned on the podcast. You could probably get it on Instocktrades or something.

I'm sorry that I didn't respond sooner, I've been neglecting the forums as of late, but I'm here now! I'm so glad that you enjoy my input on the show and that you've found a bit of identity in my delivery and shenanigans. Oh man, answering your questions may take some time though. Most of my favorite comic book characters are women, I'll just say that right off the bat. My first love from the Marvel pool is Valeria Richards followed closely by her mother, Susan Storm. Other Marvel characters I love: Hellcat, She-Hulk, Sif, Thor, Spider-Man, the entire Fearless Defenders team, and, oh my gosh, many more! DC: Na na na na na na na na, Batman! Yup, love the bat! I'm also a big fan of Batgirl, Black Hand, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Animal Man, and Damien Wayne just to name a few. I'll have to get back to you on the villains thing though - my favorite villain of all time is probably The Scarecrow if I had to pick just one from either universe. I still have yet to read any manga. I don't know why I don't just take the leap. Perhaps I will one day. Thanks so much for saying hi and for listening to the show! Cheers!

My To-Read pile is bananas right now, so I might wait until the second arc wraps to collect that series. We'll see. Thanks very much for the heads up.

Sounds good Steve. I have been whittling down my formerly big list for a while and havekept it manageable now. It helps that X-Factor trades come out pretty quick so u don't mind trade waiting it and saving a few bucks.

Hey Steve.
I could be wrong here, but i thought i heard you say something a few weeks ago on the Talking Games podcast about working on the PS2 game Legends of Wrestling 2 from Acclaim. And that news blew my mind!
Now don't get me wrong, i knew it was bad, really bad.But i have to say i really enjoyed playing this game for a long time when i was a kid, when it wasn't freezing or i didn't have to wait for the load times(which took forever, if i recall correctly)...
So thanks for that!

So thanks for that! Ha ha ha! Indeed I did work on that game, and yeah, it was all jacked up. That's the game that for months only had one song pre-loaded into it (as a place holder) that I had to listen to over and over and over and over and over again while working on it. The best part was having the wrestlers visit the building to film their bonus features interviews. Hacksaw Jim Dugan was my favorite. That guy was INSANE! Thanks so much for listening! Are you enjoying the show?
