The current Marvel Now series written by Nathan Edmondson. After an okish start I really think the series has hit it's stride now. #7 and #8 were fantastic and much the Punisher I want to read.

The guys on their podcast talked about how constricting it can be to write an Anti-Hero based book, and for me I see Frank Castle as being a clear-cut Anti-Hero. I am impressed with Edmondson's writing though. He seems to have a clear understanding of who Frank needs to be and what his world is. I can very much see the Punisher roaming around in the same world as "Who/Where Is Jake Ellis" (also by Edmondson). It was funny to me to think that while we may place the character of Frank Castle in the role of Anti-Hero and label him as a nut-job (even the Avengers call him that!), we don't shed that same stigma on Wolverine...but isn't he just as ruthless?
It's interesting to me that we would place the Punisher in one category and Wolverine in another.
Could or would you ever see Mr. Frank Castle guest lecturing at Jean Grey School? For some reason were totally cool with Wolverine being a professor/asst. dean there.
My point is not one for debate, particularly, it's just that it struck me as funny that Frank Castle has to be written differently than Wolverine. It would be interesting to me to see a Punisher storyline that had Frank Castle coming to peace with the death of his family and finding some other motivation for what he does. If the guy's backstory is true, and he was a former Marine officer, then he would have to be more than simply a "killing machine", there would have to be some intellect behind the action. Maybe enough intellect to shed the "nut-job" persona in the Marvel universe.
By-the-way, I love the new Punisher run!

I Hope that The punisher will show in the Death of Wolverine coming in a few months If Castle showed up in one of the DOW book or Death of Wolverine books, It would speak volume and at the same time It might shut up a few heroes that have been trying to put Castle or kill the punisher for years..
Here what it might say If Castle shows up at logan's wake Some one who take the life of the heartless Underworld also at the same time, showing up to remember & respect the life of The Marvel Universe 616 Elder Statement, an fallen hero and fellow vet

Pun, you're exactly right. He needs more integration/acknowledgment from his peers.
