I recently watched Mud with my wife, having no clue what It was about and hearing nothing about it. I've seen all of the Oscar Best Picture nominated films this year except Nebraska. For the life of me I can't understand how Mud didn't fall into the pool. Wonderful tale in vain of a Mark Twain story, only set in present day, with unbelievable performances. Anyone else see this film and understand why it wouldn't be at least nominated?

Anyone else see this film and understand why it wouldn't be at least nominated? Sadly it was because it didn't qualify. It's release was outside the window of contention for the Oscars. Otherwise I agree, it probably would have been nominated. Then again, a LOT of great films don't get nominated (The Place Beyond the Pines) so while sad, it certainly shouldn't take away from how much you enjoyed the film.
