2016 for me was all about the climax to The Wicked + Divine it was one of only a couple of books that every month I couldn't wait for - so Team Joey on that book 100%

Simon,
Joey tried very hard to get Wicked and the Divine on "The List", but there were a lot of great books out this year.
Here's the thing, though; just from his passion over the months, so many people have tried--and--loved--W&D, that the book is winner!

First show I've listened to in a while, because of you know...life.But as always I enjoyed the award show, good job guys!
Haven't read a whole lot of stuff that came out last year but these were some of the standouts for me:
Wonder Woman - only read the first three issues so far, but Rucka is again showing why he is one of my favourite writers, art is also great!
Omega Men(at least I think it came out last year)- read all of it during the holidays, first couple of issues took a bit getting used to, but at the end I was so invested in the characters and the story that I was sad when it ended.
Vision - still need to read the last two issues, but yeah, this book is so damn good.
Lady Killer - what can you say?more Lady Killer!Joelle Jones is the best!
Power Man and Iron Fist - two great characters with great chemistry.Im not all caught up yet but the issues I have read really put a smile on my face.Good stuff!
Dark Night - probably my favourite book of 2016.Really loved this story about Paul Dini and how he used Batman as a way to get trough some terrible stuff that happened to him.Very emotional and very good!
Favourite artist would have to be Joelle Jones, because of Lady Killer and that one issue of American Alien.Favourite writer is definitely Tom King, because of Omega Men and Vision.
I dropped Ms Marvel a while ago, mostly because of money reasons(which to be honest is the reason I dropped a lot of books last year)but also because of Civil War and me thinking the book was going to suck because of that event. But after hearing all the positive things about the book on this show I'm thinking about getting back on.

Dave,
Welcome back!
As with many of the "fringe-ier" titles, G. Willow Wilson's Ms. Marvel found a way to illuminate the issues in "CW II" by making them feel personal; same for The Ultimates and Power Man/Iron Fist, and I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying that one!
As a Joelle Jones fan, check out the new Supergirl: Being Super, that features her fabulous art in a coming-of-age story for Kara written by the acclaimed Mariko Tamaki!

Bob, I think Joey needs to work on his enthusiasm & passions as it just doesn't come across on the show
I think there were so many good books in 2016 that it was very hard to get down to even a Top 10. Jeff Lemire though just for Moon Knight got my vote it is one of my favorite things from 2016.
Artists was an impossible task as you can add probably another 20+ names and still would leave someone out - Some truly spectacular comics being produced right now.
Great time to be a fan of the funny books!

Thanks Bob, the Supergirl book is a bit pricey at the moment on Comixology, but i'll definitely check it out when it gets cheaper.
I have already read some of the Civil War tie-in issues of Power Man and Iron Fist and Ms Marvel on Marvel Unlimited today, and they are pretty good.I've also started reading Mockingbird and the Spider-Women event on MU, got to read as much as i can before my MU yearly subscription expires at the end of this month(not gonna renew because again...money reasons...)

Dave, I'm sure that the collected Supergirl: Being Super will be a better bargain than the singles, so just jhang in there, the wait will be worth it! Best of luck with your comic buying situation--here's hoping that it improves!

For me DC comics was the publisher of the year. I was not reading any new 52 titles before rebirth and now Superman and Nightwing are some of my favorite titles. I'm glad to see clean room on your list too. Not really a new book, but I found it this is Nailbiter. The mystery in that book keeps me coming back every week and wishing there was one every month.

I liked the show only disappointment was no nominations for Flintstones I think that has become my surprise love. I just never thought a comic about the Flintstones could be so poignant. Same here I was skeptical about rebirth since I really liked DC You but it has really won me over.

I'm already putting together my Sunstone Vol 5 campaign for 2017. Troy, It's already on my list, too...and I suspect Dr. Mara's, as well!
