That's beautiful - especially like the idea of a card catalogue, but I'm a filing geek anyway Yeah the card catalog style sold me. And the drawers are movable and you can add more. We're starting with six drawers/six open slots. Should be PLENTY of room for single issues and trades alike for quite some time!

The problem with comic storage is nothing is ever enough. You're always going to out grow your storage. I love collecting comics but I hate the accumulation. I got back into collecting almost a year ago now and I already get stressed out when I see all the comics and boxes accumulating. I need to get rid of some to make room for more. I see why people like digital comics, they're just not the same to me. i know exactly what you mean. i spent several hours yesterday going through my boxes, pulling stuff to go in storage, pulling other stuff to get rid of entirely, and reorganizing what i want to keep handy. i'm hoping to be able to develop a system by which i can try to keep a semi constant rotation of books on hand while the rest go into storage, but i'm not there yet.

How do you get rid of your comics? as i go through my books, i'm pulling books that i don't feel i need to keep: some first issues that i didn't like, doubles, etc. all those will go in a box, and i'm planning on taking them out of their bags and boards. then, i will take them to a store here locally that buys used comics, trades, dvds, etc. i'll probably let my oldest son rifle through them first and see if there is anything he wants to keep, but the rest will become store credit to buy other stuff.

How much store credit do you usually get for each floppy?

Generally single issues aren't worth much of anything, but if you have a complete story arc or an entire run than can be bundled together you tend to get a lot more store credit. I traded in AVX 0-12 with AVX Conseqenses 1-5 and got like $40 store credit.

Once i find out i will let you know!

I still have no idea what to do with my comics. Right now I have it divided up in 3 ways:
My Union Jack box (it was from Marshall's for like 5 bucks) holds all my current comics I'm reading. Next to that is my shortbox where I put just finished or just dropped arcs into it (so to keep my UJB cleaner). When that shortbox gets full I put it on a shelf in my garage. I have now filled up an eighth of my garage with comics. Oh well.
