Hey Guys
I am totally new to comics and I have no idea where to even start?
Can anyone help me and recommend some comics for me to read. Perhaps a little about me might help you to suggest something I would like.
I used to play WOW and loved how mythical it was, started playing dragon age inquisition as well. Also loving walking dead on tv but not sure if the comics are any good. Not into super hero comic, not really into government or political comics either.
any ideas would be awesome

I would suggest Saga to you but I have only read the first one and did enjoy it but I have so many others I am reading I keep thinking I would get back to it once it's done the get the trades. It is very fantasy based. Here is a link to the sire for it. imagecomics.com/comics/series/saga

Netty,
First, welcome to the forum and to comics. You said you played Dragon Age, there is a series of dragon age books from I believe Dark Horse comics. I will be honest I haven't read it but the most recent installment was done by Greg Rucka, so I would bet it's pretty good. The rest of this stuff is just some of the stuff I personally enjoy that you might want to check out.
If you want to stay in the fantasy genre, some other good ones are: ~ Rat Queens ~ Death Vigil ~ Birthright
Other good stuff to check out... ~ Low (Sci-Fi) ~ Sex Criminals (Humor) ~ Harrow County (Horror) ~ Descender (Sci-Fi) ~ Hexed (Magic/Mysticial)
Hope this helps and trust me you will get more recommendations than you could hope for from this community. Many of the books I read now are thanks to the fine people on this forum and if all else fails just ask Bob... The man is a comic guru.

Hi Guys Thanks so much for the recommendations I checked out Saga and a bit to star wars for me, so not sure i'm to into but really to appreciate the suggestion. I also have a 8 month old and I am hoping that comic reading will be a bit of a break from me being a mum... so will probably stay away from anything with a baby/newborn hehe. Rat Queens looks pretty funny, Death Vigl looks intense Birthright seems a bit young? said its based on lion witch and the wardrobe? Low looked awesome, looks like there where a few x rated scenes in there. Sex Criminals could be pretty funny Harrow County art looks awesome a bit abstract.. Descender again looks a bit spacey for me Hexed again looks like it could be awesome Thank you both so much for getting back to me, its great to be able to least know some of the names of the comics so I can look them up.

Maybe have a look at Fables from Vertigo. Also the Grimm Fairy Tales stuff is good. I read the Escape from Wonderland omnibus and enjoyed it but the clothing can be a bit risqué for some people and the story is adult. Not that sexual more violent and twisted.

Glad we could provide some recommendations. And I mean this with the utmost sincerity when I say this is the first place I go when I have questions or I'm looking for something new to jump into. BTW, don't let Death Vigil fool you, there is more character moments and story development included in this book than you may think. Plus the art and artist storytelling are second to none. It is a really a complete book.

(Rubs hands together excitedly) WELL If your in to humourous super hero stories you can't go wrong with Spiderman. I have been reading through the story set after Civil War, Brand New Day and so on, Its a great place to start and the comics are just awesome. Hellblazer could be for you if you like the mythical stuff, not quite like WOW or Dragon Age, its about a Brit who fights demons that occupy the world and the devils in his own soul. One of the best comics ever made in my opinion, (Dont bother with the New 52 version) Theres always batman and Superman solid standards and fantastics reads, pretty much any of Batman's stories are great, I only started with Superman myself and he can be kind of hit and miss for me, but some people love it. Death of SUperman is a fantastic read. Daredevil and Alias (Jessica Jones) If your into the TV series Frank millers Daredevil is the best. All of alias is great, still waiting for V4 myself. Oh and because i didnt see anyone else mention it, i only skimmed though, BPRD is meant to be brilliant. It is what Hellboy is based on and is about a supernatural squad that battles monsters, From what I hear Plague of Frogs is the best in it. Rant over.... thanks for reading

I think Fables is a really good suggestion. It's definitely a gateway comic.
