I am really excited for birds of prey, batman team book, Superwoman, Supergirl, Green Lanterns, and Trinity. I will continue to pick up Wonder Woman(especially with a good writer), Harley Quinn, Batgirl, and Cyborg. I will consider Super Sons and always think I should get into red hood and the outlaws since I always hear it is a fun book. Red hood, is a great book. i am a little sad that arsenal is not going to be it from the looks of it.. it was their brother/bromance relationship that was great about the previous versions

I too read spoilers mainly because I was very close to dropping more DC books but let's just say I am super-mega-ultra-pumped for specifically the return of...
Can't wait till this is out and I can discuss how happy this had made me.

Seriously guys, I enjoyed the hell out of this book. This feels like the DC that outnumbered my monthly Marvel pulls.

WOW. What an issue! This has been the best single issue to come from DC since before the New 52 took place.

Agreed, I loved the living speed force outta this book - the art was great but the story, Johns work here was fantastic, great start let's hope the momentum carries through and I get to add another book to my pull list: Titans

i have to agree, as someone who only reads Batman and Justice league of the DC stuff this made me want so much more, i just hope its not just Geoff johns who invokes that feeling in me.
but the book definitely did what it was made to do, i will definitely check out most of the rebirth books

Well the good news is that Johns should be coordinating the other writers and worked with them to capture the right feeling. He has been one of my all time favorite writers since GL Rebirth and did not disappoint.
I know a lot of people were stoked about a character returning (the narrator), but for me so much was brilliant in the Blue Beetle set up. I know Geoff killed Ted Kord and though the story was good back then, having this character back was like a return to a happy DC for me.
The art, the return of the Bug, the look on Ted's face when Dr. Fate mentions magic. Priceless.
I hope it doesn't get overshadowed because Blue Beetle has my interest more than any other series.

Been awhile since I posted on here, but I just had to jump in and say how awesome I thought Rebirth #1 was. I'm really looking forward to a lot of the books coming out now. I already had Justice League and Batman on my pull and added Wonder Woman (Greg Rucka...hello),but I definitely will be adding Titans, The Flash, and Detective. I went ahead and asked my LCS to pull me the 1st issues of each Rebirth title so I can check each one out for myself.
As an old DC fan from the late 70's through today, I'm giddy to see a sort of "Pre-Crisis" return of sorts to these characters. I get this isn't a reboot, but hopefully with John's guiding this ship they can get back to the heart of what made DC great.

Looking forward to Red Hood and the Outlaws, and Blue Beetle. WW, Nightwing, Batman are likely trade waits. Titans is either trade or singles.
I will be testing all issue ones through DCBS bundles. The discount was too good to pass up and I'll eBay a lot of them after reading.

I'll be the party pooper on Rebirth #1 I am not a DC reader but I'm familiar with the characters, and I've been looking for an entry point for 2 years now. I'd read Bobby's review of the book and was optimistic that this was where i could get on, and for 3 bucks I figured "why not?!" Having read it, I can see why Bobby liked it and I can see why most DC fans would love it. As a potential reader though everything fell flat and nothing grabbed me. There were a bunch of scenes I could tell were supposed to be emotional (and the folks on the show and others have talked about how touched they were) but I really think you needed to have some kind of attachment or investment in the characters to really "get it". This doesn't mean I think it was necessarily bad, but I came away wondering why I should care. It was totally worth the 3 bucks but I don't see a reason to go any further.

I think you are right it does hit a whole new level in terms of emotional impact if you have an investment in the characters. I grew up with a certain Teen Titan and for many years he was one of my favorite characters because of his flaws and the relationships he had and also he formed due to his personality, heart and his growth into being his own man.
Personally I think there have been as many Highs as Lows from DC since N'52 started, the spectacular mixed with the truly awful but I have genuine high hopes for rebirth.

I didn't really read American comics properly until the New 52, I read 2000AD in the 90s, Akira and handful of other Manga and Watchmen. And therein lies my problem with the Rebirth book. Since starting reading DC and quite enjoying it and hearing everyone moan about how great DC used to be etc once I got my head round the characters I started delving back and reading the old stuff, so I wasn't to lost reading reirth, although I didn't really have any emotional attachment to the characters. I enjoyed most of it with Wally West and the DC characters, but I really, really hated bringing Watchmen into it. It felt like a massive middle finger to Moore and Gibbons. I know on the podcast it was mentioned that DC were taking the blame for the dark gritty new 52, but I read it as Johns blaming Moore (obviously there milking the Dark Knight cash cow so Frank Miller can't be blamed) As Bob said, they've already got the Charlton characters in the universe. There's no need for this. Just like Before Watchmen wasn't needed. At least that was it's own thing and could be ignored. I'm hoping that like the Pandora New 52 thing, Dr Manhattan just get's forgotten about and doesn't play into anything. Watchmen should stand alone. That said after my rant, I am super excited for the books going forward.
