I was sick today and had to wait on a prescription, which made me wander in Half Price Books for a bit where, among other things, I found the first trade of Runaways! I've heard great things from my comics reading friends and I really enjoy it so far. I know Brian K Vaughan left at some point during the run and there seem to be mixed opinions after that, but I've already ordered the next couple through Amazon. Yeah that's a great one. I must also say that i think BKVs run is the absolute best, as much as i love Whedon i couldn't really get into his stuff and i don't think i've read Terry Moore's run, maybe i should do that some time.

I finished the BKV run on Runaways - really wish it could have been longer! I loved the series and those characters. I'll give Joss's run a try eventually, as well as the Terry Moore run, but for now I think I just want to stop and enjoy what was a pretty perfect series.
Right now I'm catching up with Five Ghosts and Mystery Society through Comixology, and I've got Kieron Gillen's Three on my list as well. I'm liking Five Ghosts a lot - the conceit of being haunted by literary characters appeals to me, and I like the sort of pulpy adventure vibe of it too.

I recently finished the first trade of Five Ghosts and really enjoyed it too. You're right, it definitely has an unapologetic pulpy, Indiana Jones feel to it. The art really stood out to me, especially the scene where he battles the Samurai ghost, just beautiful. Haven't checked out the Runaways yet, will need to check that out.

I'm catching up on a lot now with my .99 Marvel Unlimited membership - I just finished Avengers Arena and I'm starting on Avengers Academy, as well as the 2005 (?) Young Avengers run. Kieron Gillen's Young Avengers is one of my favorite series, so it's fun to see the origin of those characters.

Can anyone recommend some quintessential batman stories about the Riddler? I've always loved the riddler but don't know that many stories (aside from hush)

I've always loved the riddler but don't know that many stories (aside from hush) You should read the current Zero Year arc in the New 52 Batman. It's all about his first encounter with the Riddler, and probably going to be his quintessential origin in terms of canon.

I, too, signed up for the $0.99 MU trial and am really loving the ability to go access so much Marvel stuff that I neglected over the years (I am a longtime DC guy). Thanks for reminding me about the earlier runs of Young Avengers - I've had YA Presents #6 feat. Kate Bishop on my 'to read' list for ages and - lo & behold! - there it is! How is the 2005 run? Also on MU, I have been reading Fearless Defenders, old Black Widow stories, the last vol of Winter Soldier, and the amazing X-Men "God Loves, Man Kills" story which is out-of-print and not available on comixology or anywhere else.
