I just finished reading issue 19 and this new arc is off to a really promising start. First off, so glad to see Esad Ribic's art back on the book. I actually liked Garney's art in that kind of disappointing Malekith story, but this really feels like Ribic's book. I like that they are continuing to develop Thor's relationship with the rookie SHIELD agent(also love her conversations with Coulson) and they're setting up an interesting conflict between Thor and this evil CEO. I'm also really looking forward to seeing more of Old King Thor especially after that last page reveal. Great stuff and I hope to see the book be as good as it was when it first started. Agreed. Granted I really liked the Malekith story (though a more conclusive ending might have helped with many who did not) but what Aaron and Ribic are doing with this arc makes me extremely excited, especially if Old King Thor is involved. Any time he's involved, you know it's going to be good.

Aaron and Ribic can do no wrong in my eyes right now. I really enjoyed all the arcs on this book so far. I REALLY want to get a piece from Ribic to put on my wall, the man is phenomenal.

I also liked it, and was excited to see Old King Thor back at the end. I like the SHIELD agent and wish I could get my hair to look like hers in real life.
Also, of course, being the Loki fangirl I am I enjoyed the comment in the letters section that he might pop up in this series in the future.

I think this first issue definitely holds a lot of promise for the future of this arc. I was curious, what's the deal with Thor and the SHEILD agent, have they meet outside of this series before or did I miss something where he has developed feelings for her in this series?

The cosmicly angled God Bomb stuff left me beyond flat I could not wait until it was over. The Malekith and drunk dragon stories are much more along the lines of where I want my Thor.
The World Tree is way too vast for Thor to need to go anywhere else. I leave space to Silver Surfer and such, which I also read but I don't want my Thor stories set out there.

Loved the last 2 arcs and thought this issue was a great jumping on point until old king thor and old galactus appeared at the end the book. This then turned it into an amazing start to an arc!!!! Aaron and Ribic can do no wrong :-)

I felt like this tread needed a bump after the completion of the most recent arc. Did you guys enjoy the Last Days of Midgard as well?

Last days of Midgard was great. Didn't go where anywhere near where I expected it to.
In other news, female Thor anybody? So far the rumour is it's Angela which is so exciting. I think as long as Jason Aaron is still writing there is no doubt it'll be good. Also gives me a reason to go back and read up on Angela as a character. I haven't been reading Guardians, was her appearance in that any good?

Thor is my favorite non Mutant/X-Universe character and I'm excited to see what happens, love me some Norse gods! I dont think its a gimmick like some are saying either... I see this as Aaron's version of Dan Slott's Superior Spider-Man. By that I mean it'll probably last around a year or so or til the new movie is released. I dont think its going to change the quality of the comics either, I love what Aaron's been doing lately and cant wait to see where he takes it.
I think putting it on 'The View' was also a good move, this expanded its reach to a lot of other people who otherwise wouldnt have even noticed or heard about it.

I'm sad to see Thor: God of Thunder coming to an end, but if Aaron is going to be the writer for the new Thor series as well I'll stick with the book.

I'm definitely excited and interested by this news. I'll be checking it out for sure! I don't currently read Thor but I have heard good things. I'm wondering how necessary the previous Aaron run will be to the relaunch though.

I have the first trade and really enjoyed it. And I'm loking forward to getting all of them. I have full confidence in Jason Arrons writing and am sure this new incarnation will be a great read.

Was anyone else disappointed in Thor #25? This book REALLY should have been labeled as Thor: God of Thunder Annual #1.

Was anyone else disappointed in Thor #25? This book REALLY should have been labeled as Thor: God of Thunder Annual #1. I thought it was a pretty good issue. I was kinda of expecting an issue like this, to be honest and issue numbering and nomenclature doesn't bug me. One thing I'll say WAS a good surprise was the art. In the previews I was really skeptical of the guest artists because of how much I love Ribic. But the way the issue is framed, around reading history books, makes it work. It seems as if those pages are the illustrations in the book the thunder girls are reading. Nice little device, that.
