I was having trouble coming up with a proper title for this thread that didn't involve thirty or so words but essentially this boils down to: What are some comics that you read/have read that you enjoy that others (critics/peers/ect) don't? Guilty pleasures for lack of a better term.
Mine for example: When the New 52 started, one of my favorite books was Grifter. I dearly loved that series, whether it was written by Nathan Edmonson, Rob Liefeld or Frank Tieri. I read it till its cancellation and still look fondly back on it. The same goes for Red Hood and the Outlaws. The first issue was universally reviled by critics and peers but I stuck with the series and its one of the few DC books I still actively read.
In terms of Marvel titles, the only one that really comes to mind is Avengers Arena. I, along with a surprising amount of people, really loved that book but anyone who visited a comic book forum or a comments section could tell you that this was not a well liked book among a lot of people.
So that's why I'm bringing this up. What are some books you love that others probably don't? New or old.

As high profile as it is, I think of Superior Spider-Man as a guilty pleasure. I probably shouldn't because I don't believe in that sort of thing (when it comes to movies or music or anything) but there's some kind of Spock Shaming that I can't get past!

While SSM is in the Top 10 Comics sold almost every single month, it definitely had a lot of public backlash going in and still has a fair amount to this day. People either love or hate SpOck, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. So yeah, that definitely qualifies. Good choice!

I would say Avengers Arena was my most recent. Most people gave it a lot of flack from the beginning, but it turned out to be pretty amazing.

Avengers Arena is certainly one of mine. Not the whole series, but the first Damian issue that just came out was one for me. Mainly because overly buff Damian and his obsession with flexing for no damn reason.

I'm catching up on ssm and loving it. It's the people who haven't given it a chance that should feel guilty!!!!

Not tied to one comic, but my guilty pleasure is comic book romances. Don't know why, but it always has been

The New 52 Deathstroke comics, especially Kyle Higgins' work on it. It was like Michael Bay made a comic.

Teen Titans... *blush*.
Also I really like Adventure Time comics... There could probably be worse comics to read.

I loved Demon Knights, that book was so under rated. I loved how Vandal Savage was written in that book. The humour was excellent as well. My current guilty pleasure is Painkiller Jane, I just can't ignore lesbians with guns.

My current guilty pleasure is Painkiller Jane, I just can't ignore lesbians with guns. Loved Demon Knights too. It fed that fantasy itch that I don't usually admit to having. Another guilty pleasure is Luther Strode. Usually I'm not a fan of uber-violent books, but I can't help but enjoy good revenge/justice stories.

It's a wonderful thing. As far as comics I enjoy that not many people I know seem to read, I'd have to say TMNT tops that list.

Consider me another person who loved Avengers Arena, I pick up most of my books in collected editions and have only read the first 2 volumes so far, but I've been really enjoying it.

I guess the only one that comes to mind is Hinterkind, it hasn't gotten much love from reviewers. I'm in it for the weird creatures of myth. Always a sucker for that stuff
