Wow that book club got deep!!! Listened to it on my YouTube audio recorder and it was amazingly engaging. Kudos to all the personal stories that were told and well done to steve on hosting duties. I read the book and really enjoyed it but now that I have listened to the book club it has given me a deeper understanding of the themes that it represents which means you did a good job. Great panel of lovely insightfull people, looking forward to the next one.

In a way I'm really glad that things turned out the way they did. I want the book club to be something different, a place where people can be themselves and really dig deep. The panel did an amazing job (as always) and I'm overjoyed at the results. Though, for the sake of keeping it about the books, I think we'll tackle something a little less heavy next time. Thanks so much for listening/watching.

I just read Kingdom Come last week and i'm interested in your discussion about it on the book club. Didn't thought it was the best thing ever but it was enjoyable and it made me think.A pretty good Elseworlds story.

Hey there everyone,
Some you might have heard the announcement on the latest Talking Comics podcast, but just in case you haven't, the next Book Club meeting will occur this Saturday at around 7pm EST.
The book we'll be discussing is indeed Mark Waid and Alex Ross' KINGDOM COME. We've got the whole Book Club crew for this one and everyone is SUPER pumped to be discussing this ageless classic.
I do hope you join us live or check out the show once it's posted up on the site.
See you there!

Just re-read Kingdom Come for the first time in a long time. Is the book club still happening? Is there a link to watch it live?

Nice discussion guys. I agree with what some of you said about the art of Alex Ross, its beautiful but i rather see him doing covers than a whole book because as good as it looks for me it was also kind of distracting, i payed more attention to his art than Waid's writing. And thanks to your discussion i found out about all the cameos in this book that i never would have found on my own, like the three Marvel characters that Bob talked about.

Another great book club. I love these man, makes me read stuff I might otherwise over look. There always good books otherwise they wouldn't get the 'book club' treatment and your panel are frighteningly insightful in their dissection of the material. Makes me feel like I read em with my eyes closed as some of the themes you point out just make me go Huh?!..... Oh yeah their right!!! Brilliant.
