getting this party started early this week! Booyah! only read 2 new books this week and enjoyed both. But just like Highlander, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE! book of the week
The honorable mention goes to RunLoveKill #1. As mentioned in this fine review on some website called talkingcomics.com the big draw here is the art. For my personal tastes, it doesn't get much better than this. Eric Canete is now my favorite artist for doing action scenes as his use of speed blurs and panels with in-focus and out-of-focus areas was fantastic. As mentioned in the above review, the first 10 pages are worth the price of admission. For a 1st issue the story setup is a bit vague for my tastes but I have faith things will pick up with issue #2 to bring the story more in line with the art. This was part 1 of 8 so it will only go on for so long, so enjoy it while you can.
As good as RunLoveKill was for me though, my book of the week is Chrononauts #2. The story is still about a couple of DudeBros and time travel, but this issue lays out what this series is going to be. no questions, no ambiguity. What this book will be is now a cold, hard fact, squatting on your brain like an octopus (anyone else use way too many American Dad references in their day to day lives?). I'm trying my best to not do spoilers, but basically what you get with this issue is that this is going to be a fun series about 2 guys basically screwing up history for laughs and I for one am ready to sit back and enjoy the ride.

I don't care for Archie or predator, but when I saw archie vs predator on the shelf I couldn't say no. I listened to the pod late last night and i was happy it was chosen as the shared book. It's better than I could have imagined.
Convergence green arrow and steel were fantastic in my opinion. Personally, I'm all in for convergence. It's really not as confusing as some people think it is. I get why some people won't like it, but since it's all very cohesive, I dig it.
I want my green arrow back. The green arrow that fights for the little people, for families who are wronged. I loved lemires new 52 run. But that's not my Ollie. He is to whiny, and selfish. He is not the green arrow we all deserve. And please give me wally west back. The new 52 turned him into a stereotypical punk. The convergence versions are light years better and more enjoyable and close to the real versions. The green arrow gave me a little bit of everything I loved about reading about him. Morality, fighting racism, and Conner Hawke. I loved it. That and speed force were fantastic to me.

I didn't have time unfortunately to write up everything I read this week (it was quite a heavy week), but did want to mention here a few books I particularly enjoyed.
Giant Days #2 Very nearly as wonderful as #1. It manages to work a huge amount of comedy out of three girls having a cold. A fantastic comic and one of my two best reads of the week.
Stray Bullets : Sunshine and Roses #3 It's quite touching reading about Orson and Beth back when they were young, knowing what will come later. This is a great story fantastically drawn and at least for a little while the two of them get a happy ending. My other book of the week.
And a surprise honorary mention for Crossed. Just at the moment there are some really interesting stories being told in the Crossed universe and it's way beyond the shocking for the sake of it gore-fest that its reputation might suggest. Two books worth reading came out of that this week. In Crossed Badlands #75 Keiron Gillen has started an intriguing story about a possible prehistoric breakout of the crossed contagion, and in Crossed +100 #4 Alan Moore continues to flesh out an extremely detailed and imaginative post apocalyptic society. This may well be a good place to look for anyone who wants an alternative to the walking dead - really good stories being told here, although obviously they are still very much adult only material.

And holy crap is that book nuts. Alan Moore is an evil genius
