Inspired by Si Spurrier's recent appearance on Rachel & Miles Xplain the X-Men, I had another run at the Marvel Now X-Men Legacy title, focusing on Legion. Written by Si Spurrier and drawn by Tan Eng Huat.
I am really enjoying it and wondered if anyone else enjoyed this whilst it was ongoing?
The art is fantastic and the story is really intriguing but I hadn't heard much fanfare for it. I'm surprised the character hasn't had much interest before or after this run.

There is nothing appealing about legion to me and with all the intriguing x universe characters, I was so agitated that they went with legion. I get it, it started Xavier centered, then he died so they went on with legion. But it's such a throw away book to me. I hate to be negative. But there isn't any fanfare around this book because no one cares about legion. Other than his kid n play hair cut, he should disappear. I think most x fans just wonder why the heck there is a book about an x character that no one wants or asked for.

I thought it Was great. Loved his growth as a character and thought the end was nuts (though I imagine it pleased any haters oUT there).

I'm not a hater, by any means. I just feel that xmen being franchise that has too many books published monthly, this one did nothing to justify it's existing.

oh no, that wasn't aimed at you at all (sorry about that if it seemed that way; perhaps that was a poor choice of words). the series ends in such a way that someone who really doesn't like legion should be fairly happy maybe it resonated with me because I don't read any other X books (except the now-defunct X-Factor). I just enjoyed exploring Legion as a character and his relationship with not only Charles but his ideals and methods. especially later in the series he contrasts himself against the X-Men as a concept and I liked exploring those ideas.

I really enjoyed that run, it's a great example of a story with stakes, but that doesn't have to bleed into the larger universe.
