I'll second your recommendation of Joe the Barbarian. Murphy ' s work on this is outrageous.

What?New Runaways?First time i've heard about that! Not familiar with the creative team though, and i don't really care about Secret Wars, so i don't know if i'll pick it up.
I was gonna pick up Spider-Gwen last week, but after hearing a lot of mixed reactions i think i might wait a while.
I read Joe the Barbarian last year, story didn't really grab me for some reason, but i loved that Sean Murphy art!
Good episode, guys and gal!

Great episode, guys! Good to have everyone back and on form On the Rat Queens Braga Special: I believe that Braga was a dude Orc and became a lady Orc. The whole issue carried the theme of going against the grain and following who you are, but there was a little confusion as to what point Braga made the change between the flashback and the sexy time. Maybe that story is for another issue.

Really fun episode! And on the expectation vs. reality front, this made me think of the movie Prometheus. I loved Ridley Scott's Alien so much and I came into Prometheus with super-high expectations, and was disappointed with many aspects of the film. Had I come in not being a superfan of Alien, I might have enjoyed it more, but I enjoyed playing Alien: Isolation much more than watching Prometheus.

Really liked the sound of D4VE. It has tripled in price in the UK online so will have to hunt it down elsewhere.

Lady Killer #1 caught my eye in the store today so I picked it up after hearing Bob's recommendation. What a book! After the First Issue grumblings on the episode about another book, this reminded me that a simple idea can do a lot in 20 pages and leave you wanting more.
Executed really well and the art and colours are stunning.
The next two issues were just sitting there and I'm gutted I didn't pick those up as well. Another trip lies ahead.
Thanks, guys!

Lenny, Glad you enjoyed it! Not to be a skutch, but I just came home with #3, and it looks like another winner! Go grab those other two before someone gloms them...or my curse gets to working!

I third Lady Killer. Great book; Joelle Jones really creates an amazing world. Criswell predicts...you'll be hearing Bob talk about the third issue of Lady Killer on the next Talking Comics podcast...weather permitting, as even I, the great Criswell, seer of seers, has no chance of getting a weather forecast right in this crazy Winter!

I third Lady Killer. Great book; Joelle Jones really creates an amazing world. Picked up all 3 on the Darkhorse Digital App. Excellent recommendation Bob! I picked up another new Darkhorse book this week: Neverboy #1. This book was so much more than I expected. Brief Synopsis: Imaginary character is trying to stay in the real world and save/protect his imaginary family. I'll be going back for #2...

Really liked the sound of D4VE. It has tripled in price in the UK online so will have to hunt it down elsewhere. Picked up all 5 issues on comixology for $0.99/each. It wasn't my favorite thing I ever read, but definitely had it's moments...Had a very "Office Space" feel to it.

I can't find it anywhere in town (and we have a glut of comic shops, here); apparently everyone under-ordered. I grabbed #3 last wed, but the search for the #'s 1 and 2 continues; hopefully those second printings come in soon!

Its the place I have to drive out of the city for, back in my old home town. They overstock on a few unusual titles, which usually end up in the bargain bins.
