hey guys, I wanted to start a thread for us to share some of our favorite art by some amazing artist. I wanted to share a cover by my favorite artist Francesco Francavilla, this was an homage cover done for an Italian Marvel comic. Glad to say I was able to find a copy for my collection!

Not sure how well you can see that... I'm on my iPad and can't edit all that well... but I've been in love with Gene Colan's art for a while. Steranko gets a lot of credit--and rightfully so--but Colan's shadowy, dramatic art works so well for the darker, more complicated characters. So far I've read him doing Submariner (like up there), Iron Man, and Daredevil. He's always fantastic.

I got caught up on Silver Surfer yesterday, and this page in issue 8 blew me away! Can't beat Mike Allred art!

Cap, Angela and Dave, Great stuff so far! Truly, is there anything that Francesco Francavilla can't draw, and seeing that Surfer page will have me running out to get a frame for my FF poster that the Allreds signed for me a year ago! Gene Colan is my #13 artist of all-time. whom I once saw do a pencil drawing of Dracula that wouldn't have required inking to publish, and all whilst chatting away with the person who came to his table! Nicely done everyone, and here's hoping that I don't foul it up! The dining area in my kitchen is festooned with comic art of various types, including this fun print from Amanda Conner... ,,,but hanging in the living room is my favorite piece; this poster from the early-Eighties by John Byrne that depicts all the major characters of the first 100 issues of the Fantastic Four.

It's the final page of the I,Vampire Zero Month Issue. Such a powerful image even out of context, and two such beautiful and wildly different atmospheres. It was a great way to learn and truely what Andrew lost to his curse. Andrea Sorrentino & Marcelo Maiolo

With Fantastic Four on hiatus for Cthulhu knows how long, I've been randomly hopping around the various runs, and I came across this amazing two-pager from issue #247 by John Byrne. I love how the Torch's flame is acting as a secondary light source--check out the shadings on Reed and Ben!

I found it on a list of best Doctor Doom stories, I can't wait to read it.

Honestly I always assume this was one of the failed New 52 attempts so never gave it any thought, but from the art alone it looks amazing, not to mention it has good reviews! This page is incredible, I'll definitely pick up vol 1 today to give it a go.

Cap'n, It's definitely one of the greatest Doom stories, with a genuise sense of his power and nobility, along with some interesting twists to the usual, too!
