In defense Of bob's stance on ms fury............... He can feel that way all he wants. He didn't once tell you, or anyone that they can't enjoy it. But for his taste, it was rather not tasteful. I don't feel at all like Bob was disrespectful. He felt disrespected as a long time fan of the charecter and that is 100 percent understandable.
Bob and Bobby do a great job of giving us their real opinions on books, wether they like them or not, they never take a poo poo on a writer as it has been accused.

There is nothing consescending in my question. I'm not going to couch that in any apology or mealy mouthed words. It was a direct question in light of a rather blunt attack on Rob Williams by Bob and yourself. I've enjoyed Miss Fury both in it's original form and the Dynamite reboot but feel no need to rank the creators behind them as superior to one another. Rob Williams is an excellent writer, his Dirty Frank creation one of the best tragic-comic creations of the last decade. If we're going to rank peoples genius based on their creations then, having a full knowledge of Mr Williams work, I'd say he's way ahead of Ms Mills but then... its a silly thing to do in the first place.
Perhaps you should try his myriad of creator owned and non-big-two work. After all your show does regularly posit that people do their most interesting work outside of the edit-heavy world of Marvel / DC.
Pacino - I've no problem with anyone, presenter or forum contributor, bashing any comic. Nor have I with anyone debating that with them.

I really don't want to start anything. But you often post as if you have a chip on your shoulder. I honestly come here to avoid those types of people and situations. It's ok to dislike things and have fun debates back and forth. It's miserable coming on here only to see someone who contests things on the regular, in a way that DOES come off condescending and often disrespectful. Just my two cents @ bpp. For me and many others, these forums are the promised holy land, please don't disrupt the force. Please and thank you.

BPP
Turns out that here we value apologies and mealy mouthed words.
Life is too short to deal with people whose purpose seems to be confrontation and dragging you down.
Thanks for posting, but your continued attitude, confrontational nature and general unpleasantness are not a fit for us.
Tip for you. If someone finds you condescending. You are condescending.
Goodbye.

im gonna get 2-3 of them. The only one that has me a bit giddy is the Korvac Saga. Thats my favorite Avengers book ever, so i can't wait for that Jonathan, We chatted briefly about it on the show we recorded last night; I'm interested, but that's a hard story-line to follow-up on, as it was one of the all-time greats! I know what you mean! Believe it or not, the Korvac saga was the first avengers story i ever read! Needless to say it set the bar really really high for avengers books from then on out. So no matter what, even if there's a giant sized man thing bear in the way of me and the comic rack that day, you better believe I will get my copy! I'm just crossing my fingers and toes that it respects the Korvac saga legacy and greatness.

Jonathan, I was trying very hard not to spoil anything major about "The Korvac Saga" whilst still enticing folks to seek out this amazing arc, but I'm not sure how well I managed it, particular with saying "all the Avengers end up dead, but..."! (Michael's exchange with Cap in that battle sequence is still something that gives me chills!) I'm certainly in the mood to re-read this epic, and for those interested, it's been collected , a book that includes some extras! (By the way, Jonathan, thanks for your posting in my defense, which truly encapsulated what this Forum is about! As you say, we're all up for some engaging debate, but they'll be no "hitting in the clinches, and no rabbit punches"! rrr)

The Korvac Saga is the first old school Avengers book I read. The Marvel Pocketbook series collects them which has stunning colours for its size. My wife always gets me a Marvel Pocketbook for Xmas so I have the Avengers 'Bride Of Ultron' to read still and X-Men: Hidden Years 'Destroy All Mutants'.
The Korvac Saga was a nice introduction to the older Guardians Of The Galaxy too.

Good to know it has the Bob Reyer seal of approval! I've only read the first issue of the collection which drops right in to the middle of The Vision fighting Wonder Man for being too over familiar with Wanda.

That story was part of a tremendous period in Avengers history, where every issue was a gem for what seemed a decade!

As you've seen (and are a part of!), we have an amazing group of people here, and we'll all continue to aim as high as we can in terms of the nature of any disagreements!

Having read through BPP's posts as available from his profile I'm aghast to see the insults and bullying thrown at him. I've enjoyed your podcasts and read the forums from time to time. The only person I see throwing personal insults is Bobbie. I think you should be ashamed at writing that someone is 'generally unpleasent'. It looks very much like he simply liked different comics to most of you and you found that unpalatable. Go look at his available posts and see. It's clear the vast majority of what he said was supportive of both Talking Comics and The Misfits.
I also am astounded to read 'Tip for you. If someone finds you condescending. You are condescending.' I find that aggressive and patronising. So by Bobbie's logic he thereby IS aggressive and patronising. Right?
Talking Comimcs is quick to talk about toleration but all I see in the actions of the moderators in this instance is complete intolerence and outright nasty behaviour. Now maybe this BPP had angered you before I've read the boards but looking at the evidence as is publically available on his 'recent posts' list NOT ONE of you can susbstantiate the personal attack on him. That is shameful.
As a reader of this forum I'm always wondering why it is so quiet. There seem only to be 5-6 regular contributors and the show itself seems exclusively based on Twitter. I came here expecting a thriving community, it's basically a ghost town. With actions like this I'm not surprised. Like I said, go look at the guys posts and then justify his banning. First they came for.....
Obviously you'll ban my account now too for speaking out. I initially thumbed-up Bobbys comment because I endorse the general sentiments he espouses here and on the podcast. But when I looked further I saw someone whose content was very different from that which was alledged. So I'll speak out and go.
Good luck to you in your endeavours but I sincerely hope you examine your actions.
