So I've been loving Silver Surfer & just started reading the Fraction/Bagley/Allreds Fantastic Four/FF run and I can't get enough of Mike & Laura Allreds art.
I saw a comic called Madman by Mike Allred and after looking into it I cant figure out where it all starts. Somehow I have volume 1 of It Girls & The Atomics which seems to be part of a bigger Madman universe. Anyone know anything about it and where to start with it all?

Mike, The Allred's Madman began back in the Nineties at Dark Horse, then went to Oni Press before settling in at Image. I know that Image has a bunch of TPB/HC collections around, and I think that some even reprint the Oni Press stuff. I think the Dark Horse TPBs are OOP, but Amazon seems to have a good selection of them through second sellers. Hope this helped, Bob

As Bob said, most of it is long out of print. The first collection came out at Dark Horse in 96, but 7 or 8 years ago Image put out a big 852 page hardcover called Madman Gargantua which collects from the beginning up to about the year 2000 but it $100. That being said there's also a series of trades also from Image, the first three of which make up the Madman Gargantua book. Then there's I think 4 or so more trades before It Girl and the Atomics starts.
I'd say pick up the trades, they're 20 bucks or so on Amazon unless you can find the big hardcover for cheap. Also have you looked into iZombie? It's another series that Mike Allred did with Chris Roberson that is being loosely (very loosely by the look of it) turned into an upcoming tv series.
