so I have been rethinking my stance on this a bit lately, especially having run out of space here's my reasoning: face value paper comics from the LCS = 3.99 digital copy on Comixology = 3.99 now, because I am a "reward member" at my LCS, I get 20% off new books, so the comics I get from them come in at about 3.20. Now that I have run out of space the free digital copy is coming in handy as I can purchase the hard copy for cheaper than the digital one, read it, redeem the digital code (which is linked to my comixology account), and then if it's a book I don't feel I have to have in hard copy I can donate them to my local library (I have a librarian friend who was super excited when I said I would have comics to donate). I still have a copy of the book but it doesn't take up space in the house and I got it for slightly cheaper than I would if I had just bought the digital copy. plus I still have the option to hang onto the hard copy if I really want to. the books are still 0.20 more expensive than an image title, but that's not too bad in my opinion. now I find myself wishing I had the same option with a couple of the image titles I get as well as a couple valiant titles I am looking to jump into soon. I would pay an extra quarter for the ability to keep them digitally, giving me the option to contribute good books to the library's comic selection.

Totally do the sane thing And have the same issue with valiant and image. I try to wait for sales Valiant seems to do it often

I've been appreciating the digital as well, lately. But it's still hard to shell out 3.99 or 4.99 for 20 page books. Marvel still advertises some as giant size, but half or more of the extra pages are adds, recap pages, or a preview

yep 4.99 is my breaking point. Was about to pick up Darth vader no. 1 but not for 4.99. Sorry not happening. I'm patient I'm more then happy to wait for the trade. You want to know why we struggle to keep new readers....single issues for 4.99 is a big reason. I'm been reading comics for ages and even I think...hahaha yeah right.

If you ever get tired of eBay hunting you can always find a fellow read willing to sell you there codes regularly, I've got a few people who sell me there codes for $2 a pop. For books that don't have digital codes such as Ms Marvel I wait for them to appear on Unlimited.

And I do that and been doing it for months now...my pull list has increased a lot, also has led me to buy more Image books. And with the new DC "relaunch" I will be adding more books.

Image has just as many 3.99 books. And I can't stand how puffy they are

Image has just as many 3.99 books. And I can't stand how puffy they are Puffiness aside ('cause one mans "puffy" is another mans "nice, quality stock that feels great in my hands"), Image most certainly does not have just as many $4 books as Marvel. Not by any metric; not by a long shot.

Also over at Comixology they go down to 1.99 just a month later unlike Marvel that does it WAAAAAAYYYY after the trade comes out and DC waits two months.
