The word on the street right now is that it's getting the boot come April, alongside a few other books. If that's true, that's a bummer. I don't read this book (picked up the first issue, wasn't for me) but I really do like seeing support for books like these so hopefully that's not the case. If it is, hopefully Gail gets to wrap up her story.

I've yet to pick this series up, but have been considering due to Gail Simone. Are all the characters in this book brand new to the DCU or are the characters pre-established before this series?

Nope, from what I understand the character 'Tremour' - appeared in Simone's Secret Six run.. but to be honest she is the leas interesting at the moment.

Better late than never……
Finally read this amazing book. How sad that it's all over. Such interesting characters and as always stella writing from Gail. Here's hoping we get to see these characters again real soon.
Thanks Bob for putting this one on my radar :0)

I think as the years roll on this series is going to be looked on as similar to Stan Lee's original Silver Surfer run--a great series that didn't find its audience! Let's hope that similarly to the Surfer, the character's from Ms. Simone's book find their way into some other titles until they make their comeback!

I just bought all 12 issues. Can't wait to dive in. I've never read any of it before and this will also be my first real exposure to Gail Simone's writing!

Nick, That's a heck of a way to begin reading the work of Ms. Simone, I'll tell you that! All of what makes her writing so unique is right there in The Movement; vivid characterizations, clever but realistic dialogue, intriguing plots, and a wicked sense of humor, and in this case, all un-interrupted by the outside "events" that hamper so many of the Big Two's new books! Enjoy!

I agree with your assessment of "vivid characterizations, clever but realistic dialogue, intriguing plots, and a wicked sense of humor" -- now i feel the need to hunt down Batgirl 10-13 for the first appearance of Katharsis. Thanks to Talking Comics and this forum for recommending the Movement.

I'm fairly sure that you'll enjoy Ms. Simone's Batgirl as well; it has been a very good book since the New 52 re-launch, if a bit scattered due to Events Interruptus! Her handling of the character of Barbara Gordon through the years is, to me, her signature moment! (Should I mention Birds of Prey from #56 on, or am I gilding the lily here?)

You know, I wouldn't mind seeing your Top 5 or 10 Gail Simone stories list, if you have such a thing. I wonder how the Movement would place.
