If there's one part of the DC Universe I feel like I've never been able to get into its the Green Lantern one. Not because I don't like it. Far from it. I love the characters (John Stewart and Kyle Raynar specifically) but have only been able to enjoy them in team books. I love the thought of following a solo Green Lantern character whether it be Kyle or John or Hal, in a cosmic storyline. But the GL books feel SO dense. It seems like they are constantly crossing over and there are so many different lanterns and colours and teams now it just feels pointless to try. Hopefully they give it a fresh start. But I would absolutely love a John Stewart solo series.

Weird morning.
Lost New Guardians, Corps, Red Lanterns, and my beloved Swamp Thing in one fell swoop. I really enjoyed all of those books.
Klarion cancelled already? Jeez give it some room to breathe.
Why the cull? Is there some NewNew52 going on?

DC is ending these titles in March
the ones we already knew: Batman Eternal, Future's End, World's End
the ones just announced that were poorly selling and new but not long for this world:
Klarion GI Zombie Trinity of Zin Infinity Man and the Forever People Secret Origins Aquaman and the Othes
the ones cancelled because the writer went to Marvel:
Swamp Thing Arkham Manor Injustice: Gods Among Us Season Three
the ones cancelled due to low sales but have been around a while:
Batwoman World's Finest Red Lanterns
Surprising cancellation:
Green Lantern: New Guardians
That is a LOT of books ending. 24 shipped titles (when counting the weekly titles as 4 each) Something's going to happen after that Convergence thing. As it is, I only read Batwoman and GI Zombie, so my list isn't really affected much.

I am sad that Swamp Thing is ending. I figured they'd get a new writer but perhaps they will have a little break and then benefit from a relaunch at #1.
Was Arkham Manor planned to be only 6 issues, do you think? I didn't figure Wayne Manor would remain Arkham but I am a bit surprised they didn't bring on a new creative team. Perhaps they told the story they needed to tell (or wrapped it up quickly enough) and could just return to the status quo.
I am saddened that Batwoman won't have an ongoing. Coming aboard the way they did, Andreyko & Haun needed to hit it out of the park and...well, they didn't. Again, I hope there will be a break and then the character will have a glorious return.
While I don't read them nor do I have any idea what the differences between the GL titles are, I am surprised they are dropping so many at once. I figure they will be unveiling something big after Convergence.
Interesting times ahead for DC, for sure!

I'm mainly interested in the trade news being a mainly trade reader so there's some interesting reads there:
-The Mortal Kombat trade collects issues 1-4. Release date of # 4 is March 11, then the trade is April 8. I know its a rush to get it out before the game but hopefully we could see a better trade release schedule.
-The Batgirl trades are being renumbered now. Batgirl: Burnside is a new volume 1.
-The Green Arrow Vol 6 trade looks like a Marvel trade. It's 3 issues, the Futures End story, and part of Secret Origins #4
-Dial H is getting a Deluxe Edition? Was anyone clamouring for that?

Out of all the early finished New 52 series' it was the one everyone recommended and I think both trades did pretty well so a Deluxe makes sense. The Batgirl trade news is interesting. Wish they did that with the Green Arrow trades.

I hope this means more Deluxe Editions of stories. Court of Owls in one book, or Zero Year.

the cancellations of the new books does surprise me, what does not surprise me is DC's lack of press. advising people, they are f-ing useless

I'm surprised by the Lantern books rather than others...(Swamp Thing was a clear candidate for a new #1 due to Soule going to Marvel). I expect at least to see a new Green Lantern Corps #1 to debut after the Convergence "event". Other than that I guess this leaves room for maybe more books set in other universes (notice that Earth-2 hasn't ended despite the whole "Darkseid won" tagline) and for DC to FINALLY give us a Shazam solo book (which I would buy in a heartbeat)?
