I'm going to my first con here in Indianapolis in March. I'm really excited and have no idea what to expect.

Didnt impress me in 2013 and I felt like it took a giant step back from 2012.

joestate-I love the Portland Convention Center. In fact I love pretty much the entire surrounding area of MLK Boulevard. It held a lot of great memories for me in 2013 (I went to Wizard World Portland, Stumptown Comics Fest and Rose City there last year). I only wish I had time to go to WWP this year but alas, my plans fell through at the last minute. Still looking forward to Rose City though. Should be a ton of fun. JediHunter66-Yeah I agree. But they were kind enough to offer me a reason to return this year so I feel like I should go.

I live in Orlando so I've been to MegaCon twice, where I met Stan Lee! He's super down to earth and is just as nice as you imagine he would be. I also met Chris Sabat who is the voice of Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z and I got him to do my voice mail, so whenever someone calls me it's legit Vegeta telling the person leaving a message that him and I are off training. I also met Jason Aaron, who is by far the most down to earth comic book writer I have ever met. He even visited our local comic shop and had a few beers with all of us.
I also went to both Star Wars Celebration's that were held down here in Orlando. In fact that was my first convention. I had no idea what I was in store for. I met Warwick Davis on the floor where he was looking at the ewok dolls, it blew my mind. I brought a girl I was dating at the time and she absolutely loved it. She's not the geeky type and she told me she didn't know what to expect either, but she wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as she did. I really hope they bring it back to Orlando at some point. At the 2nd one in Orlando, I met Seth Green on the floor, he was really cool, very humble. I was at the Star Wars Detours panel that George Lucas came out on, and I have to say it was exciting to just be in the same room as him.
I'm really looking forward to MegaCon this year, I have convinced a whole group of friends to come with me. I'm kind of the geek of our group so it will be their first time. I can't wait!

To people in the UK, I'd heartily recommend Leeds' Thought Bubble convention. I've been for the past couple of years and its fantastic. It's the only comic convention I've been to, but it's very friendly and there's a wide range of talent there (last year had Matt Fraction, Fiona Staples and a whole host of indie artists/writers). A great place to meet people and get chatting. In 2012 I rabdomly found Pia Guerra (Y the last man) and she did me a great sketch.

I live in North Carolina and have been wanting to go to Heros Con in Charolotte the last couple of years, but haven't made it yet. Has anyone gone to Heros Con? What was your experience like?

I've never been to Heroes Con but I'd go in a heartbeat - I have friends who have gone, and follow a number of other folks on Twitter who go regularly, it sounds like a fantastic show.
(Good hat(s), by the way!)

(Good hat(s), by the way!) I'm the same boat....I'm planning to see if I can make it this year. But yeah, I have a friend that has been going for the last two years and says is a good show and also the size of it is also good as is not overwhelming as NYCC.

(Good hat(s), by the way!) Nice! Since I live only a couple hours away from Charlotte, it seems silly to not go to what sounds like a great con. As others have mentioned, I've also heard that it is a nice balance of having lots of great creators and panels, but not as huge/overwhelming as NYCC and others. Glad you like the Phillies gear! The picture is from my daughters first game at Citizens Bank Park, first of many I hope (I grew up in West Chester before moving to NC).
