I read Tooth and claw last night and it was descent. Not an amazing 1st issue but they are setting up what could be a good story. I'm definitely interested in the next one. I like where its going but I am having a little trouble getting over the fact that the characters are zoo animals. There's one that even looks like Spuds McKenzie and the fact that he's not drinking beer and surfing kinda bothers me. Other than that I like the art. I don't love it but for a fantasy comic it's appropriate. What they are setting up sounds cool. There are some good visuals. I recommend checking it out.
Have you read it? What did you think.

I just read this last night. I actually loved it. I enjoy fantasy stories, and the idea of magic dying is one that always interests me. Busiek is really creating a big world with this, too, but it never feels forced or paint-by-numbers when he's doing it.

Yeah, I liked it quite a bit; that was some impressive world building in one (granted, very oversized) issue. Enjoyed the art, the colors, the rogue wizard boar woman, just about all of it. Really looking forward to the next chapter, where, presumably, we'll see that . . . . champion fella that they've just brought through time and space is a human, who will inevitably fuck up everything because that's kinda what we do best

My LCS ran out of copies before I could pick this one up. I was disappointed, but after listening to some reviews of it I am getting the sense that it will read well in trade format, which is what I am ulimately going to do with this title. I;m excited for that time to come. Anthropomorphic animals FTW!
