Did anyone read the new Green Arrow #35???
I was decidedly NOT a fan. I disliked the cheesy dialogue, how out of character Bruce Wayne was, and the art was clunky and uninspired.
I'm going to have to drop this thing. At least I got a terrific run from Lemire/Sorrentino.
Agree? Disagree?

I agree with you on the art. Not the biggest fan of that. But everything else I loved. I loved the clear reference to Arrow in the opening line but then how the book went in a much lighter direction to what the previous run and the show are.
I think this is a nice departure from Jeff Lemire's run, which I liked but felt that with every issue I had to go back and re-read what happened before because it was one giant story. It was much simpler and fun. This Green Arrow feels one goatee away from the pre-New 52. And I really enjoyed the humour.
Bruce Wayne I think is meant to be unlikeable to an extent. If he's to maintain the Bruce Wayne facade he has to be an arrogant business man. Plus he and Oliver Queen have always butted heads both pre and New 52 so I enjoyed the reference to that little rivalry.

I am a fan of the character - and of the show - but didn't really dig this for the same reasons as you. I am going to give it one more issue & if it doesn't improve I am dropping it.

I don't find there to be any reason to try and link the show and the comic. The two are designed for two very different audiences. Any cross pollination will occur because of fan interest and not because you can digest two different media.
If I want the show I'll watch the show and vice versa. I don't want a rehash of one in the other. The pencil pushers who feel this to be a good idea will find it not so as the Lemire fans drop like dead weight from the book up to and until it gets cancelled.
Here's hoping they put better writers on the book sooner rather then later.
I did like the art.

I guess I'm alone here, I really liked this issue. IT felt like a fresh start, and a solid successor to Lemire's run, which I deeply miss already. I was ready to flat out drop this when Lemire left, but I wanted to give a new creator their fair say - and I can say, they have me as a reader
