I just read the first issue of this series from Jason Aaron and Jason Latour. It's dripping with atmosphere and depicts a deep-south town largely left behind by the rest of society. The main character, Earl Tubb, has come back to Craw County after being away for 40 years and finds that the town is in even worse shape than when he left. He reminds me of the main protagonist from Starlight, but replaces the sci-fi with BBQ and beat downs with a stick. The series is brutal at times and takes a harsh look at insular towns, but tells a compelling story. Anyone else on this series?

I've read up through #4 and it's good. I really love the art and how it tells the story. The action scenes where he evokes the history of Tubb's father are great.

This is already one of my favorite series out right now. So gritty and real, and after what happens in #4 (I was not expecting that) I just want to see where this story goes.

As a native of Birmingham and lover of Image Comics this book has become pretty much the top book on my pile every month. The letters section is also another huge plus for a couple great laughs. I definitely didn't see the end of issue #4 coming.

Dang. My LCS got shorted on #4 so just got my hands on this. What an amazing first arc. Devastating ending with such an interesting twist. Really looking forward to see where the story goes from here.

Only just picked up #4 this week. Took the wind out of me. Great book and can't wait for #5 now. Kudos for the creators to use the first arch the way they have.
Now the readers are affected and involved going forward.

I absolutely love this comic. One of my favorites on the shelves and cannot wait for the second arc to start. #4's reveal was a really interesting and rewardingly risky way to get you invested in the story.

#5 really opened up the world, too.

My LCS's shipment of issue #5 was damaged, they still haven't gotten it in yet. ARGH!!!
I, as I imagine many others were, was quite shocked at how the 4th issue ended. I'm very very pleased with this series thus far.

Boom! issue 6. What a comic.
This and Stray Bullets are just brilliant brutalist comics. A book that makes you feel good about being alive to wade in its joyous filth. The ugliness of its world is just fantastic. First of all there is the 'no way' at the end of #04 and here we are two issues later rooting for the nemesis-so-far. Bravura stuff. Great writing and Munoz-like stabs of ugly art that you can just revel in. 10/10 in every sense.

Man, this book has been touted everywhere I look. I really like both Aaron and Latour. Guess I've got no choice but to give it a shot.

What issues 5 and 6 are doing with Coach Boss is remarkable. Making a villain sympathetic is no easy task and the Jasons are doing it flawlessly. A+ comic book.
